What the fuck has happened to this country, we've become a nation of over reacting panicking prats. (I'm going to sound like my dad now) When I were a lad, you'd have a foot of snow and everyone would still be driving around in their mk3 cortinas, moriss marinas, triumph dolomites, and hillman imps and just getting on with life, now everyone drives a huge 4X4 with all round discs and ABS and a crumple zone the size of rutland, yet no one can move if there's a much as a cm of snow. the news are reacting like london has never seen snow, yet in the victorian era winters were so harsh the thames used to freeze over hard enough to hold fairs on, they even had elephant rides on the ice, that's a proper winter. The HSE has a lot to answer for, turning us into winging twats is one of them.

I Just spent the last 4 weeks going from preston to bolton on the train, and all you see of blackrod is a very run down station and a small sewage plant, is there anything else there?

Me too! You'd think they could at the very least give them something constructive to do.
Funny though, my Son being an addict of the wrong variety - ie, gaming, which is beyond me..... still gets 'excited' at the sight of snow........... bless
