There is a media backlash, cos of the BBC going excessive paranoid over what she said off camera. Most of us have said far worse off camera too. I suspect she has a great case for unfair dismissal, regardless of her parentage.

the Johnathan Ross thing looks decidedly weak too, but then he attracts audiences, it seems.

i think what clarkson said was joking and satire or risky,same has many thinks on my fav shows - mock the week,QI,also on many tv stand up shows and of course we run the risk of that entertainment being ruined by not risking things,which i hope doesnt happen.

but working a bbc one show and calling someone a gollywog backstage,really mate thats not very bright is it

i suppose its the reported context thats the issue.so depends on the context that the person who reported it thinks it was in.it is unusual for someone to report this backstage thing.who reported it anyway ? time will tell i am sure. but yea she does look like a bit pigfaced by the way

As I understand it (probably badly), she did not say "oh look, a gollywog" at some black geezer, but rather a comment along the lines of "that chap has gollywog hair" referring, I assume, to a hairdo more correctly referred to as a "microphone head" or, among music techies as "pop shield head".

of course the word is gollyWOG so it's never good.

Given her ancestry it is likely she subscribes to the view that "wogs begin at callais"
