who thinks the last few bars of the song really sound like a hooky bass solo.
the non mix version doesn't seem to have it.

Hooky did a remix of one of their songs and bigged em up a bit.
They are utter shite though. I've seen 'em live so I know what I'm on about.
They took their name... oh I can't be bothered.

And Brandon's also been in Bernard's car in Manchester (or so he said in a recent interview)! :p

I did this thread a couple of years ago and even pestered Jack to clarify whether Hooky played on it,such was the likeness..Turns out he did'nt.
I'm no Killers fan, they get on my tits, but the remix you are on about(the nigh on 9 minute one..there is a shorter one, don't know which one you refer to) as a stand alone job,is fucking nectar!
Absolutely fuckin nectar in fact! Yes siree! ![]()

But i can be arsed to say The Killers new single RocketMan or whatever it's called hits a new low for them. Shockingly dreadful.

This is the exact quote (from Time Out):
TONY: You’re a big Joy Division/New Order fan, too. Brandon Flowers: I’m a bigger New Order fan than Joy Division fan; I also prefer Morrissey to the Smiths, which I guess is also sacrilegious. I have a good New Order story: I was driving with Bernard Sumner in Manchester—which was totally surreal—when my wife called me and told me that we were having our baby. So that’ll be a cool story for my son when he’s older.

do you lot know that they have played shadowplay on every stop on their tour, AND they have some vids, of the movie control.
ever see a picture of Ian used to promote NO?

No but i had the displeasure to see an image of him used to advertise Converse trainers (think it was Converse) a while back. Had been aware that the image had been used a couple of years back for that brand but not actually seen it. Then there he was in the shop up on a big picture with someone elses legs stuck on next to Sid Vicious. I ain't no precious sensitve Curtis fan but i thought it was sick. I think the way they had stuck some other bugger's legs on to him in "cool trendy jeans stance" was what was sickly about it

i did see the concert here in houston, and i was pumped to hear shadowplay just like i was when NIN played dead souls.
but yeah i got a sick feeling in my stomach for what i thought was blatent misuse of a dead icon's image.

That part is not a bad yarn on the face of it..
Will be even better if somewhere down the line Barney says to the enquiring youngster "I've never heard of your fucking lying gobshite dad,he's probably not your dad anyway whoever the fuck he is.Now put an egg in your shoe, and beat it squirt..."
I personally think 'Crystal' is right up there amongst the greatest live tunage possible, anywhere,by anyone.
Where in the Sam Hill is'By eck me neck?' when you need someone to articulate the Killers intrusion on the muthafuka..
How the fuck Barney never glassed Flowers,I'll never know...![]()
