the last i'd heard from the sprout site was that there is an album due but that even martin mcaloon couldn't confirm the release date. june/july was speculated. it's good news though. I was trawling through the you tube footage too. it's great to see those live tv performances again.

Possibly unintentionally, you've just given a good answer:

I Trawl The Megahertz

Worth searching it out - it's wonderful.

I raised the topic of Prefab Sprout about a year-and-a-half ago, and this forum generated some very interesting thoughts.

Prefab Sprout are another of those bands that are stereotyped by some comic or stupid videos, depending on your point of view. I strongly recommend two of their 1992 bitter-sweet songs If You Don't Love Me and The Sound Of Crying - both of which you can listen to on their MySpace.com webpage:

I totally forgot about the new album: must get it soon!

Not a band I'm fond of, more to do with association of time than actual music! but I saw an article in the times and was stunned to see what Paddy McAloon looks like now! You can read the article here: timesonline.co.uk hope that's helpful to you.

Cheers for that :thumb:

I was also shocked to see what he looked like now. Very sad to read about his poor health (nearly blind and tinnitus).

Different,thats all i can say.

Weird looking gadji singer, and bird, spose almost a comedy/bizarre/]working mans Deacon Blue.

The music isn't particularly brilliant, nor is the singer, however, catchy indeedy.

Oh ffs,i forgot i'm a Musik reviewer now....

Liked em at the time, never bought thier albums tho.

I bet you know loads of Prefab Sprout songs, they have recorded about 9 studio albums. It is like when I tell folk I like New Order ,they only know "Blue Monday & the football song".Then recognise lots of them after hearing them.
