Get rid of the footy forum and let's get things back on track.

It saddens me.

Sex, drugs, beer and women are desperately needed instead of all this politics and religion bullshite.

I will start off the first topic.

Your favourite beer of the moment or favourites from dark ole days gone by.

BECKS King of beers, none of yer soft American pish like fucking BUD :nonono:

Now Stella has been a faithful friend for quite a while, but I've had enough of waking up in bushes and telephone boxes, so I've swapped her for her best friend. I have to say she tastes better every day. She's German and quite old, but she gives great head.

It all died when the charts vanished. We need a forum stimulus bill.

Pilsner is good when done right, the Americans could do a lot worse than shipping a few crates of Tennants lager over and tasting how beer should be done.

Having tasted many (and I mean many) American brands whilst over in New Yoik and Seattle, myself and Brother DoN (at least I think he agreed with me, I was very drunk) decided never to taste an American beer ever again. Fat Tyre - have ye tried that? Tastes exactly as it sounds, fucking awful stuff. Smoking dope is highly recommended in the US (and this was "on tap" in Seattle - cheers Bri!!!)

They still do Mad Dog 20/20

Holt's bitter ya say? Not tried that, Corby is so good we don't have a proper Tesco's, but we do have one of them mini Tesco's, so I may have to try this. Gotta say, I much prefer me lager to me ale or bitter, whenever drinking them I always feel I should be smoking a pipe.

Furstenberg, is that the stuff that's on tap in quite a few London boozers? Normal, medium and extra strong? If so, I would highly recommend that, Jeff wouldnae cos he tried keeping up with us on the extra strong stuff and fell down the stairs and lost his passport before the New Order gig at Finsbury Park.

Happy days

Back in the days of my yoof when it was all about getting as fucked as possible for £6, Mad Dog and Thunderbird figured heavily for a while. UNTIL I realised that every time I drank them, I did something reprehensible...got me nob out....puked on mate's mum....set fire to bed.....the sorts of things that make the phone not ring for weeks.

First time me and ma wee (big) cuz Steve got hammered, we did it for 5 quid between us. 5 cans of Tennant SUPER a quid each.

Steve was so sick we had a bucket in the room when we got home, not only was that full, he proceeded to spew out the bedroom windie several times, in the morning when we got outside it looked like that Jackson Pollock fella had been painting the hoose. It's fair to say ma mam and dad weren't best pleased.

On the subject of drink that's not actually lager, Diamond White was a good craic, 8 bottles of that and an eighth kept you going all through the night, only thing was you could never be arsed walking the two miles to the 24hr garage to get munchies. We soon learned to get a "carry out" of crisps before getting the gear. If anyone's been on holiday with me, they will know exactly what I mean

White lightning, oh the stories I could mention about that matey! I know there are a few coppers on here, so I'll save them for when I'm drunk posting, let's just say Peterborough has never been the same since we invaded it in '91

The stories of tripping on the paracetemol were highly exagerrated, it wasnae till I had my first strawberry (or possibly a superman) that I tripped the light fandango, fucking hugged a lampost for a good 15 minutes thinking the thundercats were coming out the top of it. Happy days.

Drinking a bottle of Lambrusco through a straw, not just one straw, but two joined together in a cunning way, now that was fucking classy and a sure way to pull the birds round here. We even tried smoking josh sticks one night. As I say. Happy days

 Cracker! Last time I had it we were up in Coatbridge before getting on the bus to a game, loads of young neds outside the pub daring us tae drink it cos of our accents, they were a bit taken aback when I downed the last quarter of the bottle, they started giving us "spec" after that. I had my first buckie before half of them were born  Best to be avoided, I've never seen so many people turn into homicidal maniacs like Bucky does after a bottle or two. Thankfully it's not sold as easily as up the road down here ;)

As for Geno - Organic cider, dunno why but I like the thought of that, I cannae drink spirits or ciders these days cos I get terrible heartburn, years of excess on all kindsa substances, but I wouldnae mind trying a wee bit. As garymac concluded, dump a couple of tabs in there, it might make you forget about yer headache :D

Cracking porn names they have Gaz, I have a few stories of certain ladies who participate in dodgy acts, I'll have to think up some names though

Reminds me of a cracking story about one of the corby order, involving a rope, a banana, a shed (that will amuse several on here alone) and two CID occifers, Triple D Dawnie and Paula Abdul.

Another member of the Corby Order managed to get unwillingly involved in a romp with a deadly seductress whilst her ole fella watched. Mad story behind that but cannae go further on here

Gold Label used to be sold in bottles or cans on the bottom shelves of dodgy pubs. It's fortified Barley Wine. But tastes as far away from wine as you can imagine.

The first sip makes you shudder, but then you get this feeling spreading through you. It is like a drug.

I used to love the stuff. Could only have 2 mind or I'd either be asleep in a corner or up on the bar trying to moonwalk.

just found this:

Was once accosted by an insane, ancient bag lady in Birkenhead who showed me her stash of gold label barley wine, it was obviously very dear to her, judging by the holy grail type reverence she had for it, in between bareley coherent mumblings..."have you ever been locked up with a corpse? I have.... " "I know what to do." I am NOT joking. She really said that.

The antibiotics and alcohol thing is a semi-myth. Alcohol will reduce the efficacy via absorption of ABX, but not negate the overall effects. There are, however, a couple of exceptions! So, in the interests of public health, I won't say which.

You're best off avoiding the booze, but when you get back off the wagon, go for it!

still do Old Tom, near me, Hare & Hounds in Mill Brow - 40mins walk from marple 3hr walk back, great for garden hopping some nice big house with ponds and everything!

but Old Tom, geeez! i struggled, really struggled, not even half a pint i could get down me.

there was one kid there when were 16 showing off, he had two pints. he spent the rest of the night stuck in a 0.5cm puddle crying his eyes out bcos it was too slippy to get out - we left him there - reportedly he spent the night trying to get out, crying.

saw him a few months after, he was cracking one out and we could see him through the window which was open, much delight in throwing snails at him too! should of seen his face.

as for antibiotics, had to go them tongsilitus(however you spell it) and two skin condition thingys, didn't give up the drinking, and tbh i just drank more. myb i wont tonight...

As for US beers- the only one I have found palatable is from Boston - Sam Adams pale ale- bit of an acquired taste.

Personal faves at the moment are Peroni - especially on draught or Hoegaaden. Holts bitter is fantastic as a session beer Shug- and cheap as chips!

This country is in such trouble.

The liver is basically similar to elastic - Initially it processes the booze with no complaint, but then one day it breaks and bleeding and rupturing occur and from there it is a slippery slope. Added to that the usual issues of violence and disorder which tend to follow its consumption and you have a big public health problem. Another example of Britain absolute decline right across the board.

Its odd though that one becomes a pariah for suggesting people dont drink and maybe cover up :confused2:

bit of news for you, not everyone that has a drink becomes violent, just like not every muslim is a suicide bomber, can you not get the idea of moderation at all?

and the liver will cope perfectly with 70 years of moderate alcohol consumption, whereas the body is completely fucked after one bomb.

Oh hell, this is all a redundant circle of "this is bad".

my advice to avoid an hangover.

lay of brandy and dark rum drink wine. Drink with caution. clear drinks give less hangovers eat bananas in the morning, they re-grow dead cells destroyed by drink. drink water at times you can. dont do nool events. dont drink with drinkers from burnley or darwen. go out late not early,or early and not till late.dont drink on a computer while playing music on wireless headphones at weekends

That's decent for a mass produced beer, but there are by far, way better pale ales:

Yep, the wagon keeps on rolling for this soldier. 50 days sober today. :thumb:

Furstenberg, is that the stuff that's on tap in quite a few London boozers? Normal, medium and extra strong?

Happy days

The clue is in the name matey. Furstenberg 'Frei' which I'd imagine is German-ish for 'free' as in 'alcohol free'. Just like the other one I listed, Klausthaler. So as well as 'normal, medium and extra strong' you can add 'completely booze free' or 'for pussies' if you prefer. 51 days sober. Not like Im counting or anything.

Now normally I'd get tore straight intae ye with a line about being gay or a jessie or a lightweight, but I know a few people here who have had the bollocks to give up mate. I just wish someone very close to me would see sense and give up, but alas he's set in his ways and it isnae gonna happen. You can only be about to support them. Hope yer happy in yer new found sobriety amigo. I'm just finished a stock take and have a few cans of my ex favourite Stella, I will raise a glass to ye ;)

WOWWWW! Slow down mon ami. I'm not saying me and my long standing friend have divorced forever. We'll probably re-aquaint ourselves at some point in the future but on much more civilised terms. And not for a while yet.

I'm telling you though, see goin to the pub and drinking fizzy pop all night, it's utter shite. See drinking a decent non-alcoholic beer though, quality. I had a riot round at my mates local last night and I was on the Holsten 0% stuff all night.

I was invited to a wine tasting evening tonight. But the thought of having to spit it out without swallowing........well, frankly, it put me off. Not worth the £10 ticket. (Could get a 3 for 2 offer at Threshers for the same price and they would be really annoyed if I spat THAT out on the laminate flooring).

My liver lives another day.

My life is in decline, right across the board. Chess board, ironing board, cheeseboard, surfing board..........well, I made the last one up. Don't get much surf here.

(Well, not without a bit of Fairy liquid).
