watched The Wrestler earlier on, stayed thru the end credits and seen the name Clint Mansell pop up.

thought didn't he used to be..... etc

back home on the t'interweb and yes it is, seems the ex PWEI frontman is quite the Hollywood success.

fuckingreat live band PWEI, but I imagine after paying royalties/clearance on the samples they used; not a big earner record sales wise.

always thought The Designers Republic did a brilliant job artwork wise, creating a 360 degrees identity for PWEI encompassing everything fron tee shirts to software. In much the same way Savilles work is recognised by the 'serious' critics et al, The Designers Republic is represented in The Design Museum in London

What else has he done lately? I know he worked with the same director earlier on the movie "Pi" (i don't know how to make the symbol) in drum n' bass mode.

I wonder what they were like live... I'm sure they had fun and just threw everything they could think of into the mix.

I think he was there at the reunion shows a couple of years back (at least I think so? - I was at the Shepherds Bush gig)

But, yeah, also Requiem For A Dream (another Darren Aronofsky production) and loads more...

Gimme big mac, fries to go...

I started watching the Wrestler on Saturday afternoon. I managed 40 minutes of it and switched it off, just couldn't get into it at all. I think mainly because Mickey Rourke looked so plastic.

I thought it was the best film I've seen in ages.

I might give it another 10 minutes then. I've heard a lot of people rave about it but it's sooooooo slow.

I really like Mickey Rourke. His character was a bit of a reprise of the Chef in Spun, which was a character I really loved. That probably helped me through the slow bits. I enjoyed the whole theme of people slowly and belatedly coming to terms with the fact that their peak has passed and still resisting the impulse to change; utilising a variety of devices to deny and glorify their self-image. I found the depiction of the off-hand manner in which the wrestling was choreographed (or fixed) surprisingly depressing.

And there were some boobs in it

The Wrestler is a fantastic film.

so by default I must be a Poor man who lives in a squat, but occasionaly travels with a penchant for hip-hop, indie music and pop.

thank fuck that famous Dutch tolerance is only a cliche, bringing a cartoon tank to the proceedings indeed.

actualy other than the living in a squat bit and only a cursory knowledge of old skool hip-hop, you are pretty spot on...... and I would hazard I aint alone mate, so fook your cartoon tank
