Ohm Sweet Ohm

I was just rooting through my limited Kraftwerk connection, fishing for this tune, because I felt sure the vocoder/speech synth[1], at the start was in fact the self same noise which appears at the start of "Leave Home" by the Chemical Brothers. Well, having confirmed this to be the case (I am a 3 anorak sample spotter in case you don't know), I let the track play on. Something dawned on me.......

It's the track that New Order are nodding to with the title and groove of "Krafty".

(Admittedly, I just had to dig out my copy of WFTSC as I couldn't even remember what Krafty sounded like...)

Well admittedly that's a ghastly version on that tubeclip.

I'm thinking of the underlying groove that really comes into it's own in the 2nd half of the tune, it has an almost identical feel to Krafty.

i can see where you're coming from with that steve, having studied the pattern in the intro for krafty (for the backing in my hooky bass lines video) the ending is very similar.

I love this track, not listened to it for years, due to not having a record player any more, I always thought the title was a good pun and shows that kraftwerk do have a good sense of humour.
