He suffers from EHCTOCD
he also suffers from S,E & Y OCD
but he does have a few shergolds and he's had four eccleshalls built (gave one away, one in the workshop at the minute)
While we're talking bass bollocks, have you any idea who this fella is?
Steve Rogers

He sent me a message saying that the fourth eccleshall hot was in the workshop, in response to a post I put somewhere that eccleshall doesn't answer emails, which was over a year ago!
got these both on watch, thanks again for the links,
is anybody else from NOOL bidding on these btw?

not for a broke one and an over priced one, according to steve though, all you need is a series tester, maplin book and a soldering iron, you should be able to fix it! I'd be more likely to completely fuck it though!

i'm going for the broke one:D
if it all goes wrong, ill just blame steve,
i got a new model on ebay for cheap and it works fine, i love it. sounds just like hookys. are these really worth getting?
do they have a better sound??
or do you just want one exactly like hookys...

They sound much more full and lush and creamy if you get what I mean, in reality, when it's placed in the mix you probably can't tell the difference and the new ones will obviously have a cleaner sound.
But it's the same with all vintage gear, yes, there's new stuff out there, but it's not quite the same, not necessarily better, just different.
i know what you mean, i would have liked to get an old one but they are a bit pricey and if it broke id have no idea how to fix it. thats assuming that it even works when i buy it.

That's why i said the working one was over priced, I wouldn't pay more than £80, mine cost £70 so just in budget. It's OK but squeels a bit if your feed it a hot signal, but I like to put the ditortion before the chorus (which cambo will probably slate me for) so it's a bit hot. still sounds nice though.
No way am I gonna grief you for that, the stinky, downright furry, signal is the whole point. What would all those old NO boots be without the whirring and growling of the clone.
And if you think the CT is bad........try a Big Muff with all the settings rammed full up......sounds like a harrier doing a vertical landing on your amp.......fuckin great......if you want clean signal, and horrid, vile, disgusting digitial distortion, buy a Frontline (and a gun and a single bullet, for yourself).

finally, someone agrees,
the broken one is going for 50quids now geeez
64quid in the end![]()
i tried one of the new one's in dawson's, and well its sounds shiiiiiiiiiiit, no fuzzy noises, all i could hear was me playing,
i asked the guy at the counter if he had a shergold to play it with, he didn't a fucking scooby, knob head. he gave me a les paul at first to put through a line6 amp.
he put me on to another counter guy who was much older, he still didn't have a fucking clue either, tsh.
rant over
i watched it for a bit, march and april are tres expensive for me too, hopefully santa will get me one in summmer
Prices on these seem to have dropped a fair bit, I'm guessing because of the re-release. I wouldn't have considered £99 (~US$150) overpriced a couple years ago, but you can get them stateside for well under $100 now.
£64 for one that's not working is ridiculous, but £50 is a steal, and that one was in pretty good shape. Someone got lucky.
Still, nothing else sounds quite like it, noise and all (putting it in the effects loop definitely helps).

Oh, he would if he could, but last I heard he only had two. They must be even rarer over there than they are here.
He's actually sold off at least one Shergold, but that was ages ago. Geno, it's not surprising the counter guy didn't know what you were talking about, they've been out of production for donkey's years.

oh i know, but step in johnny roadhouse and mention Vox phantoms, clone theory pedals and shergold and you'll leave few hours later and more than likely with spare parts
