I completed the ASHBY 20 mile road race last Sunday in 2hr and 43mins.

Any other NOOLers like running apart from Rocket who runs away from the Police ?

I used to really enjoy running. My Dad was a good runner, competing in marathons, road races and fell runs. So I spent my childhood waiting around finishing lines. I started running at school and ran for our local team for a time.

Gave it up late teens but took it up again in 2004/5 so I could train for the Great North Run. I enjoyed it so much I decided I wanted to do a marathon before I was 40. I've only a few years left to sort myself out now.

I've been out a couple of times recently but seem to struggle getting my breathing right these days.

But watch this space, maybe in 2012 you'll all be sponsoring me.

But don't hold your breath

Can we look forward to seeing you in a hawaiian shirt on the day?

Hey if you finish, it won't be the first line you've crossed.

First he'll have passed though.

Or at least passed up on.

I'm going swimming every day at the minute. Less sweating and panting than with running. The smell of chlorine gives me a boner, too.

Err Mike, how did you manage to reply actually IN my post? Thats DEAD CLEVER!

Jems...moderators have these nifty little buttons that say edit...so we can do cool things like, oh...accidentally reply in your post as opposed to something as mundane as just using the quote button...

we're cool like that...

Oh it was a poop alright. Right in front of a section of spectators in the 2005(?)London Marathon. The cramps were affecting her progress so she decided to go just there and then.

You've got to admire her! I'd have written the race off. But that's why I've no Gold Medals.

Quite enjoy a bit of the old running. Clocks go forward this weekend so will be nice to get out for a run on the clear nights.

Ever wondered why racing drivers are always so shifty in their press conferences.....yup no toilet in an F1 car, and can you imagine a full bladder or bowell under 5 times to force of gravity. Sooner or later, the brown flag will be waved.

She stopped for a piss first:

But is supposed to have had a crap later on. She used those white gloves she was wearing to wipe her arse.

Thanks for not posting a clip of her pooing!

Did she have the runs?

(See what I did there?)

I've had a good look, but can't see a gut-dropping one.

I remember seeing clips on the telly at the time where she was limping along with gloves on, disappeared behind a wall and then sprinted out, sans gants.

Hardly a topic for the dinner table though.

Would I be a national hero and a role model to millions if I took a shit next time I was in my local swimming pool??

Apparently it happened a few months ago in Urmston Swimming Baths. This resulted in the funniest thread (on another site) I have EVER seen!

Must find link to original article...

Littleinoil and I tried to go in our local baths a few weeks ago, but they were closed for the morning following an incident in the pool. The staff wouldn't reveal the exact nature of the incident but my mate who works there confirmed that the incident was about three inches long, brown and had to be removed with a net on a long pole.

Which was the team that was lobbed out of the Winter Olympics for wanking on the luge run? Germany, wasn't it?

Used to run quite frequently years back, around 5 miles daily. Would have loved to work up to a marathon one day but a tibial plateau fracture did me in(not a running related injury). I can't even get through a half mile anymore before the pain brings me to a dead stop.

Was a bit of a runner in high school and college. Received a few medals in national races. Loved the mile and 5k.

Currently assistant coaching a high school track team.

Never thought much of the marathon though... seemed to far for me to care about it... never ran further than 15 miles at one time.
