Sow this to the next person who says the 80s were great.

That was theme tune to an early BBC 'reality' show called 'The Wedding' or something similar. Followed a couple planning their wedding day. It ran for weeks as I recall. The groom had a moustache.

The '80s were great.

You know Uncle Rico from Napoleon Dynamite? That's me, but with hair mousse instead of a football. I spend all day every day looking on the 'net for a time machine to take me back. So long, suckers!

Ahh Mr Vegas, that answers a question I had this morning "who's that guy with the moustache?"

It does not, however, give me any clue as to why you have stopped answering your wireless device when I try to call you.

Sorrrt it arrrrrt. We have things to discuss.

This is still better than these Snow Patrol, Burial, Craig or Nirvana. There's romance & synth rhythm.

This, howbeit, is not a good specimen. Much better are videos by Specials, Duran Duran.

The Eighties were shite? Well there was the crap above: and Thatcher/Regan etc. But then there was also stuff like this!

(Sorry it's yon stupid e-wok/K.K.K one).

Every age/era has it's good and bad points; we (homo-sapiens) are however endowed with discretion, I can only suggest you hone yours and refrain from sweeping undefendable statements in the future!

The first two of those were written and recorded initially in 1979, as far as I'm aware.

And who's that wanker miming badly to Atmosphere?

LWTUA wasn't released till, c.April/May '80,and "Atmosphere" was released after that. Many apologies for the bad version of "Atmosphere", just wanted to avoid that ludicrous bloody video that looks like e-woks or K.K.K members are stoating about with a picture of Curtis: didn't actually listen to it, just assumed it was J.D. (I'll see if I can find a better version).

But there was also Cope, The Bunnymen, Magazine, etc etc, and lyrics that meant something, and weren't by shite manufactured boy/girl bands singing bullshit commercial "love songs" which were/are devoid of meaning/relevance to anyone with half a brain/modicum of taste.

Any rose tinted memories i had of the 80s were quashed in an instant recently when i saw a photo taken in a nightclub we used to frequent 84-89. Suddenly brought back painful memories.
