I see the most self centred journlist in the history of popular culture is at it again.
Far from me to judge a book before I've even read it, but knowing who the author is (John Robb) the claim to be a history of Manchester Music 1978-2008 is surely wildly innaccurate.
Here's my guess as to what it'll be, reasonably detailed stories (which we've all heard before) of The Smiths, The Fall, The Hacienda, New Order, Stone Roses, James, Oasis, followed by some information of what all these have been up to recently. The end will be how Elbow triumphed over advertisty to win the Mercury prize and maybe a page on The Courteeners.
Only a tenner on Amazon. and i've got free next day delivery. Should i ever bother? Does anyone ever care anymore. Well actually, that second question is a stupid one. Because there's more than a few people on here who just cant wait to hear how New Order once took drugs in the Factory offices! ![]()
