Don't you wanna see Dave Gahan sweating in leather chaps?

I'm washing my hair that day. And for the whole tour.

well, is not their best. However i found 5 good songs:

Fragile tension, hole to feed, little sound, in sympathy and perfect.

Seen them playing a song called 'Come Back' earlier on Later..with Jools, they shouldnt have bothered ..

Probably not the best album they've ever made...but better than most rubbish out there musically...

I especially liked the songs

In Chains Hole to Feed Wrong Fragile Tension In Sympathy Jezebel Corrupt

(That being said...I must say...even though I generally like how lots of Japanese editions of CDs have bonus tracks...the bonus track for this one was crap; it's called "Oh Well".)

But remember, Depeche Mode are SERIOUS and RESPECTED artists!

Kind of like Newcastle are a MASSIVE club

What people were expecting I don't know. I'm quite happy with it, it's exactly what I thought it would be. Worlds better then GET YOUR BOOTS ON, and the Save starving Africans new cd.

Come to mention it and btw GET ON YOUR BOOTS by u2 is pretty funny and i like singing it  but back to what the mode issue is.

As for depeche, the first one on jools was ok but i suspected the album was shit because no one (certain mode fans) ever mentioned it to me :nono:

Half of us Modies are perpetually caught in 1988. It's a bleak rainy day, and Music for the Masses is blaring on Cassette. Because, the Vinyl never came with the bonus tracks, and the CD's were always mastered too low. Therefore anything after 93 doesnt really exist to the masses.

Heard this the other day and thought it was shit. I haven't heard anything good from them since Alan Wilder left.

But did anyone actually like Coldplay?.. or are they too scared to own up to it?..

Is this turning into the shite bands forum?

White Thighs are the way forward.

I bet the Sounds of the Universe isn't all that bad, that is why Depeche Mode fans don't like it. I've only heard "Wrong", and I actually like it better than most Depeche Mode songs. At least the video is cool.

Saw Depeche Mode on Jimmy Kimmel (one of many American late night talk shows) and they had a huge audience. The live song seemed to produce no excitement in the worshipping crowd thou.

Parachutes is a great album... they went shite after that, where Rush of Blood is fine every once in a long while... Isn't that around the time he started date Gwynth, maybe a link:brow:

Because everywhere I go, Viva la bullshit is blaring, because people find them contemporary now.

Liked the album, though it doesn't compare to their masterpieces... but then again wich artist do it after a 30-years carreer? They won't be doing another Violator or Black Celebration, but Sounds Of The Universe sounds pretty decent and mature to me.

Hopefully I'll save £60 to import the deluxe box set.

And by '88 I'm going on about listening to MFTM and 101.

I've just had my third Saturday night listen to Sounds Of The Universe, and I'm torn between relief that the Mode haven't released a bad album and disappointment that the chords are among the worst I've heard from Depeche to date, and I don't just mean Dave Gahan's songs. But this is not a bad album. Peace is good and Little Soul is the dark but gentle sound that I love from Martin Gore. I was however disappointed with the haunting ballad Jezebel, the style which Gore has made his own, certainly when compared with 2005's Damaged People (Playing The Angel).

The good news: Sounds Of The Universe was #1 in the world album charts last week, which means U2 were not!
