ANOTHER FUCKING REMAKE.
Still, this one could be an improvement, but I BET the facist element is removed from the new one, as it is too close to the current bone.
The two miniseries of the original were pretty good, but the full run series was cheap, tacky and like Voyager and Enterprise, was based on scripts rejected for other shows with tiny sci-fi references dusted in at random, the worst kind of (usually) American wank.
Why Juliet?! Rather she was Lost on that island for good. Can't stand her "serious" expression to everything... something about the expression on her face makes me want to... find a way to wipe it off...

She'll be perfect for playing the role of the scientist chick in the original then, she was pretty hot but had a face like a slapped arse much of the time.
BTW......for the record, the openning of V, Independence day, and a million other movies/series (ships moving into position over key cities)....Arthur Clarke, "Childhood's End". They may not be able to write sci-fi for shit these hollywood writers, but at least they read the right stuff.
Hmm .. vaguely remember watching the original series in the early 80s or thereabouts. Might take a look at this new remake.
As for Juliet out of Lost being in it, i quite like her but yeah she is annoying at times. Gave up on the most recent series of Lost after about 2 episodes. It was just taking the piss a bit too far with series 5. Decided i would just watch the series finale last Sunday night. Figured i'd got just as much chance of understanding what was going on in the finale as i had if i'd watch every episode. But as it turned out i fell asleep after the first hour and missed the final 60 minutes. Did i hear right the final (next) series is going to be 50 episodes or something? Feck that.Piss taking bastards.

Taking every thing from the past and making the same bland crap over and over and over is, as far as I am concerned, an Orwellian tactic designed to make the old series "un-shows", and replace them with new ones which are much safer and politicall correct (read as, supportive of current Party Policy). It's inhuman and wrong. Can't wait for the remake of 2001.....the one where the Discovery roars past the camera and where HAL is an android who shags Davina Bowman.
I like Juliet,was a bit shocked seeing her fall down the hole with the bomb. Old series was good,though some of the effects were a bit ropey.And it had Freddy Krueger as a good alien! But the second series was shit.
