My contract with Sprint expires on August 12th, and I'm thinking about getting an unlocked GSM cell phone (although, getting a contract with T-Mobile is an option also). Basically, I could not get a signal on my current phone (CDMA) now. The phone was working great when I first got it, but after I moved, the signal is gone. I have to go outside to have a conversation or go to a public place indoors. Has anybody used unlocked cell phones? If so, were you satisfied with them?

WTF do you think is involved in unlocking yer silly bint? You set a flag in the phone's OS that says "my network only" to "no". Surgery is not required.

Watch if you want to use T-Mobile in the US because you can have a non t-mobile phone and they still wont let the phone on the network.

I found this out the hard way when I bought an unlocked phone in the UK that wouldn't work on t-mobile in the US but would on other networks.

I just went to the store and learned the cons of using an unlocked phone on T-Mobile, also. Basically, I just decided to get myself a HTC G2/MyTouch (it's called the Magic in Europe) when it comes out. I wish I know when it's going to come out, though.
