How come Skynet can detect a single solitary jeep stereo being rebooted and banging out a tune but are totally unaware of the Resistances vast, busy, bustling airbase? And it's made out that destroying Skynet's base will win the war but in the end actually just, er, well, destroys the base. Same old final scrap in an industrial building too

The thrills and spills are alright but it just doesn't have yer gripped on the edge of yer seat like the first 2 films.

The first Terminator film is on BBC1 tonight at 11.40 pm. Will enjoy watching that again more than this latest plot holed ploop

Most of the reviews i've heard about this have been that the plot is very hard to follow.

in fact one said that algebra was easier to figure out!

Nah i followed the plot and the Marcus Wright character's involvement in the scheme of things. Just stuff like Skynet being unaware of where the Resistances airbase was that i couldn't work out.

I thought part of the plot was Skynet was just trying to fool the resistance into thinking they had some freedom, then catch them off guard... you could use that plot device to fill in whatever gaps in plot logic, what is just part of Skynet's game and what is not?. Not to imply the story is great or anything. I thought the storyline of how the Terminator had a "heart" was kind of clumsy plot device, and the irony that John now has the transplanted heart. Whatever.

The movie doesn't really tell you much about the resistance or the life of John Connor. The movie doesn't tell you why Skynet is so fucked up paranoid and worried so much about these human "cockroaches", what is Skynet's plan for the future anyway? They could have fleshed out the story into a much larger potential story, but seemed like they are making the story into more like the mediocre Matrix sequels, with the same type rag tag hidden fighters led by "the one savior", human slaves being used by machines, and the undefeatable enemy playing mindgames.

I did enjoy this.Yeah plot-hole of not knowing where the base was,was there,plus how a nuclear blast EMP wouldn't bring down the helicopter,but didn't ruin it for me.Bloke next to me said,"That was shit". Yet being a Terminator fan,it ticked all the boxes. Action scenes were amazing,love the new Terminator "bikes" and "Eels",a few references to the previous films (John Connor playing Guns 'n' Roses from T2,"Come with me if you want to live",how John gets his scars that you see at the beginning of T2,oh and PLOT SPOILER.......

Yeah looking forward to future films where they raid the time-displacement unit.

possibly even worse than T3, i found nothing interesting in this at all, and lost intrest until an explosion woke me up abit.

Sarah conner chronicles was much better than this piss and they've sacked that off.

Damn Shame. I was expecting more. The first 2 films rank amongst my favourites of all time. The first had a great concept, story, some good effects (some very dodgy), Arnie as the baddie, but based on the fact it cost $6m, its brilliant.

T2 cost at least $100m more and with “the most expensive film ever made” tag, it had a lot to live up to. For me it lived up to the hype. The effects were some of the best ever and the story was pretty good.

T3 was alright. The premise was getting a bit jaded now but there were some good elements in it. I was expecting Arnie to roll out T4 in no time. But alas the franchise went quiet.

Christian Bale is one of my favourite actors of the current generation. I thought there was enough timeframe to link up T3 with the original Terminator to make a decent story of how Skynet gets taken over by the machines, how mankind gets wiped out to the brink of extinction by the machines and how the renaissance go about avenging and claiming the world back. Too much to ask for, obviously.

The sad thing is that if T4 is crud then expect many more sequels, prequels. As time travel is a feature of the films, the film makers can go anywhere with this beast, past, present, future. I also expect a future Terminator film to be made by computers, machines. And the line between film and video game will no doubt get so small that they will become one and the same.

PS Is Skynet a thinly veiled attack on the Sky Corporation’s dominance in the world? Lol

I read yesterday they are more 80 revivals including a Tron2, BHC4, Ghostbusters 3, A-Team, and Footloose. I could go on.

TRON v2 should be good the leaps technology's made,and Jeff Bridges and Bruce Boxleitner's in it again.But the idea of THE THING,ALIEN and PREDATOR being rehashed makes me piss!!No it's true,Alien being remade/rebooted to include the origin alien spacecraft,Predator by Robert Rodriguez.don't get me started on The Thing.A masterpiece of PHYSICAL effects,no doubt they're gonna throw a shitload of CGI at it.

There shouldve never been a batman sequel after batman and robin, that film defines all Batman is, a comic book.

I loved Tron the film but even better was the video game:) The film did suffer from one of the worse endings of all time (up there with Jurassic park 3). it just ends abruptly. I can see the logic in a remake as its based on computer technology.

But your right. Why go back to Alien, Predator and The Thing (which in itself is a remake)??? I thought Alien has the Alien Spaceship but Im guessing you mean they didnt have the means to show what they originally intended?

Maybe they could remake a remake of the Incredible Hulk again, just to really rub it in!
