No, not fat cnuts playin rfactor and iracing who think they are Juan Manuel Fangio reincarnated, nor even the gobby, stella marinaded football manager that inhabits an inordinate number of couches and pub seats in the UK each weekend.
No, I'm talking about buying shit instead of doing the deed.
In the last 3 or so weeks, I have spent about 400 quid on fishing stuff, but have been fishing on only 3 shot ocassions. If my sore bits are OK, I'm too tired, if my sore bits are OK AND I'm awake, the weather sucks balls, if health and weather are good, the tides are wrong, without getting into silly permutations, suffice to say that getting all the boxes ticked at once has been V hard, and each time an intended fishenmishen (is that German?) is aborted, I settle back down to ebay instead and buy more hooks, or a better rock-top-sea-storm-proof-meths-burning-cookset, or enough attractor beads to make enough eye mangling necklaces to catch a whole box of Essex girls.
I must be the best equiped sea angler in the land, certainly don't have a problem with salt eating the stuff.
I have decided that short of hurricane, I'm doing an all day pollack and ray quest on saturday (OK, with the inevitable mackerel semi-genocide to pass the time). So, get your rooves and greenhouses checked, and buy a big kite.
