My lovely Latvian neighbours are moving out from next door

Bastard landlord (english/kirklees bastard) will not spend any money on the house that he rents out to my lovely Latvian neighbours so they have decided to move on

They were always uber friendly and always spoke when i saw em in the garden, had a few vodka parties with em and learnt em loads of local lingo.

They were that nice i even learn a few words of Latvian and Russian just to show that we welcome everyone with open arms.

They work 12hr shifts in the local bakery 6 days a week and have to come home to a delapidated shithole of a house they pay £425 a month for.

Lazy bastard landlord would'nt even get their toilet sorted out for em when it wouldn't flush,i had to go round and sort it for em.

Bastard wouldn't even pay for the drains unblocking when they got blocked. As we share a drain I had to pay for it doin as my drains would have eventually backed up.

Got it done by a mate for £45 and sent landlord a bill for £400,after 4 months he finally paid so i split the money with my neighbours.

That bastard landlord is a piece of fuckin shite, what must my neighbours think of us british people?

Anyways just wanted to say bye to ludmila, ena, artur and safiya.

Very touching, but it does sound like your neighbours do some rather large stools with all the toilet and drains issues.

Well done at getting the cash out of him though, spend it wisely (VODKA!)

I worked in a pub with a guy from Latvia about 20 years ago, strange lad, always carried a small teddy bear in his shirt pocket, until one of the bouncers bit it's head off!

Did base maintence for 2.5 years, clogged drains are usually due to people putting food down the drain (especially rice and potatoes)... probably felt every hole was able to shove garbage out.

Regardless, it sucks when you have a neighbors you like that move away. Next set might not be as nice and livable... but ya never know.

Hate dealing with penny-pinching landlords. The house behind ours is a rental, and the fence between us is in dire need of replacement, falling apart. Fucker won't chip in 50/50 for costs (I even offered to do the work free), and I don't feel like spending $800 on fence all on my own. If I end up doing it all on my own, you can gaurantee that the property line might change a foot or two.

Fuckin'hell! £425 a month! I understand why my street is full of foreign cars (UK, Germany and Switzerland)

I like people behaving like Robin Hood

I thought the same when the Russians had to leave in the previous area I was living in. They were very friendly... I remember when they teached themselves French with cds. "We are Russians, we are not communists". But the bloody French capitalist kicked them out. The daughter was an incredible piano player... it was so nice to have those dreamy pieces out of this crap place...

Moved house last Saturday - bit of a nightmare - as my Son was 'confirmed' as having Swine flu -.............felt pretty crappy all week, but don't think it was swine flu I had, just moving etc etc.

Everything seemed fine, then the Landlord turned up at 8.30am on the Monday, then again on Thursday, and again tonight. Thing is, he has a managing agent, so why he feels the need to keep knocking the door as he 'was just passing' is beginning to annoy me!!!!!

However, it seems he was generally not a popular guy when he lived here himself, (prob cos he built a 40ft garage which not only blocks the sun in this garden, but a lot of the neighbours also) so we will have to see what happens. Don't think I could face yet another move in Jan; I was hoping for a least a 12 month stay this time :\ohwell:

Suppose the advantage of renting is that if you have got neighbours from hell, you can at least move on.

He's after your body (or at least one very particular part of it). Knee, meet groin. Unless you fancy some rent rebate of course :evil4:

one of the rights you have as a tennant is the right to private enjoyment (unless it's a license, rather htan a lease) - he is not allowed to come visit you without making an appointment, he is actually breaking the law
