Did anyone else watch this last night on beeb 4, a film doc of the first moptop tour of the good ol u.s of a, some unitentionally hilarious moments. The BOYS traveling by train to all major cities, cattle class,, which one are you,, im paul, mmmm,o.k.best sign here then. Ringo got to sing "i wanna be your man" at a gig and paul had to take his mike stand over to ringo so he could sing into it,, macca the stagehand eh.

ED sullivan describing the boys as well behaved young men from liverpool, john made up for that , from moptop to peace junkie in 5 years.

and a poigant moment when the fab 4 had a photo shoot in central park with the dakota in the background where john lennon would have a different kind of shoot 16 years later.

listen, do you want to know a secret.

That was such a good film last night. The sight of Ringo on the pull, dancing with a Yankee girl.

Even better after ,they showed the movie HELP re-mastered. Crystal clear, some shots were like a modern video. Beatles and Richard Donner. A match made in heaven!

No such thing as Public Address in them days. All you got was the on stage backline (ie their amps), and an equivalent amount of power to amplify the vocals, in somewhere the size of Shea Stadium (named after the famous Cuban guerilla leader, Shea Stadium), if you were more than 10 rows back, good luck, cos all you'll hear is screamin wee girls.

Ringo was most likely TOTALLY accoustic!!!!

watched some of the Shea stadium footage on youtoob tonight. wss amazed more insane fans didn't try and make the run to the stage. as it was only a few tried it.that girl that Lennon remarks about and one or two others. appeared to be a handful of Police to stop 55,000 crazed screaming fans

I read that they only actually played for only like 25 minutes, there was no such thing as long rock concerts yet.
