Big fan of kakapos ever since I read the original book. Loved being reminded of one of Douglas' all time classic quotes....that Kakapos have not only forgotten how to fly, they have forgotten they have forgotten how to fly.

Have thoroughly enjoyed this series, even if yer man Mark is convinced that every creature on Earth is endangered. It's given my iplayer recorder a serious workout :D

I liked the bit earlier in the series when they were led, on tip-toe and nervous, up to a white rhino by a guide - who had forgotten to tell them that said rhino had been hand reared and was the tamest rhino in all Africa.

I'd never heard of this parrot before. Very amusing sketch.

My Alfie does that to a golf ball, the feathery little deviant.

They're gorgeous. They look dull until they flap their wings, they've got loads of colours under them.

They can destroy a car in minutes though, they're worse than Monkeys at a Safari Park.
