I see Channel 4 have finally caught up with the rest of the world and True Blood and Generation Kill get their first airings this week.

I've seen both though.

What's everyone else watching?

Peep Show is unmissable, natch, and I'm a sucker for Come Dine With Me, although it's gone back to it's hour-long 4-person format, which I ain't such a fan of.

How Not To Live Your Life has its moments, even though the fittest bird ever in a BBC comedy isn't in this series.

I'm downloading Sons of Anarchy and the new Family Guy as they appear in the US.

Beyond that, what else is there bar repeats? BBC2's Home Time has Ideal's scary Tanyaaar in a truly shit drippy role, and BBC3's Off The Hook features Inbetweeners' Jay in an equably pointless position.

So many channels and there's fcuk all (new) that's on.

At least Spooks is back soon.

waking the dead's the only thing i've been tuning in for lately. glad peep show and buzzcocks are back. and i'm looking forward to the maxine peake thing this week - criminal justice?

it's amazing what you can get into when you're strapped for channels, as we've been for the last month or so. the choir suddenly got a whole lot more appealing and masterchef became riveting.

An Ulsterman beating the lot of yous to be brittish touring car champion.

Not as impressive as it used to be, when the BTCC was a respected, works backed championship, it's now just 3rd world banger racing really.

Apart from that the best thing on my telly is a layer of dust.

I watched both series of True Blood which were great. Unfortunately it looks like season 3 is going to air next June! I'm still trying to watch series 4 of The Wire although I don't think it's as good as the first 2 series.

Other than that there's nothing that has peaked my interest.

It's been a good season, those last 3 races were incredibly exciting. Was hoping Plato would win, but I'm glad Turkington did and not that Italian robot.

The second series of True Blood only finished a couple of weeks back, don't get too greedy! Thought the second series was excellent, even better than the first. Shame the Fellowship of the Sun didn't reappear again, quite fancied a 'race' war! (Or did they reappear in the final cliffhanger, huh?)

Er, it's all based on a series of kids stories though, isn't it? :\ohwell:

Truth be told, I was rooting for JP myself, I'm a big fan, and his performance on Sunday was excellent. Also well please at Sarah Moore winning the Gineta Juniors, bout time we had more chicks in racing.

UTV managed to pop a mention of Turkington's win in between the dead donkey and the weather, but if the NI footie squad had make it out of a match against Kazakstan with only a 18-nil defeat, there woulda been special buletins.

Still as I said, it woulda meant a lot more in the days before the WTCC and DTM lured all the factory teams and best drivers away, 10 years ago the BTCC WAS the WTCC basically. At any rate, Sunday's ToCA pissed all over the F1, which was dull as recycled dishwater, odd, considering Qually had more red flags than May day in Moscow (suspect Mr Whiting treated them all like naughty kids at driver's briefing).

criminal justice was totally gripping. ace cast. edge-of-the-sofa tense. directed by the chap who did dead set. beautifully shot, too.

on all week, well worth the watch. suspect the entire audience will be on the verge of needing medication by thursday, though.

She was at one of them Kevin Cummins exhibition things with Natalie Curtis a few of us went to a while back. I couldn't help but notice.

I thought they'd have done and dusted the series now what with the specials and the film.

Surprised (but glad) it's come back - will the ailing politician in this series be the same one from the film, I wonder? Or will there be a new face hung out to dry?

matthew macfadyen's a baddie (ostensibly) in criminal justice. i love it when he's cast against type, it's so brilliantly unnerving and confusing for the audience, who can't help being automatically charmed and a little bit smitten by him.

I am almost entirely missing the point, but there's was nowt good on telly last night so I watched my rental copy of "Hunger". Just so no-one confuses this with the supremely daft vampire film with David Bowie....

Sorry for being such a latecomer. It's as good as everyone says it is, though, and has the feel of a well-funded British TV movie. Stunning stuff, I thought.

I think you're confusing the 'kids' stories with Twilight. True Blood is based on a series of novels by Charlaine Harris.

In civilised countries hunger strikes produce shock and horror, in NI, the produce "could you hack a pastie supper bobby sands", and the notion that one republilcan starving himself to death was a noble effort, but was barely a decent start. It's such a shame though, if he'd lived, he'd probably be a government minister by now.

Well, it's suitably grim but the whole film is absolutely committed to underscoring the nihilism and futility of said events.

The best bit in the movie is a shot of a bloke methodically cleaning up piss. It goes on, without dialogue, for about 10 minutes in a single take. It's that kind of film.

This week I have mainly been downloading...... Engineering disasters (and other episodes of modern marvels, a US doco strand that's more intelligent than most BBC teletubby inspired docos (pitched at the level of a 3 year old, with everything repeated, and there's loads of stuff repeated. Shockingly, worldshatteringly, many things are repeared). I've also been fleshing out my tragically small movie collection.....lots of classic sci-fi of course, but also other more "normal" movies. I've also watched A clockwork Orange sober for the first time in my life, not half as stupid as I remember it being, but a bit bloody rape happy (BTW in the UK, if you clip the rape scene out of it, and view it in isolation, you go to prison under new porn laws). Currently reaching the end of the Hodsucker Proxy, which I watched back to back with Brazil just to revel in the extent to whicht he latter inspired the look for the former.
