Mine's is brown breed. Looking for a CD/DVDRW with a decent RAM/Hard Drive (Desktop). Anyone know of any good deals out there at the moment?

I have 1.5gb memory in me old computer and a CD/DVDRW drive - just hope they are compatible!
Twin xenons? That's a fileserver, won't be able to fit a game-worthy graphics card to it. Also 2x2.66GHz=2.66GHz I'm afraid, virtually all software can only use one processor, so if your current machine was 3,2GHz with a single CPU, this one will be slower.....though it will multitask better (ie, at all, windows is cancerously bad at multitasking).
Mind you, I bet it's built like a brick shitehous.
DVD should be compatible, it's bound to have an IDE connector. Memory might be, but prob not, Intel do their own memory for at least high-end Xeon based systems, it costs FUCKRRRRIGHTOFF.
Not too bothered about playing games on it Doc. My old computer was mainly used for downloading Films, TV stuff and music from various sources and transferring them to CD/DVD. I am hoping with the new computer will be just as good.
Total bastard is losing all my old programmes like Nero/Soundforge/AudioGrabber etc....

I've a fairly comprehensive utilities disc, I'll toss you a copy. Versions are circa 2005 though, but I doubt that matters.
I should have mentioned, among the cavaets that those are intel's top line CPU, and are FABULOUSLY efficient and snappy.

Had to fix a Dell last week.....Windows was the problem, as always, but I gave the guts a once over anyway......not just tank....T34 with extra armour.....makes them a total cunt to work on. I had to install memory in one a few years ago and it was like keyhole surgery. The down side is that you get into all sorts of trouble when it comes time to fuck a few new components in.....for example....have you seen the size of a modern high end graphics card? My windows machine is for games and DAW, so it has 2 M-audio soundcards (one internal that is sulking) and an external USB one (an Ozone). It also has a GTX280, which was top-end when it appeared and is still not to be sniffed at....but it renders the internal sound fucked cos of it's 200 odd processing cores screeching away.
