I spotted you, and gave you five stars (four for the music, and a bonus star for the mad sexy bass player).

I suppose, since this is a New Order fan board, it shouldn't be surprising that 95 percent of us are bass players.

Ah well I can only dream! Anyway, anyone who won't be in Paris, come and see us at NIGHT & DAY,Oldham Street next to DRY 201 on Nov 6th.Fooking headlining.....no pressure there!

In the meantime....

I've been dying to find out what this song is off the I-Pod advert...and they're on TV at moment LIVE AT ABBEY ROAD. Lead singer reminds me of Sofia Coppola.

Me and my bro had Subbuteo when we were younger,

The pitch was pinned to this big bit of hardboard that slid nicely under my mum n dads double bed for storage,

We would sit the board on top of the 4 stools that sat round the breakfast bar.

I was always flipping the fucking thing up in the air when he was beating me,sending Celtic and Brazil players, goal posts and nets and 3 inch high European Cup flying throught the air!

That's more like it! I really cannot be arsed to look for 'next big things' - God bless St Etienne.

Shut it.

The next big think my hairy arse. Why would anyone of OUR age be interested in New Music by New Musicians? Nothing to do with scouring Youtube for film of their lithe little bodies, by any chance? Or turning up at their crappy gigs, mixing it will their teenage fans?

Stick your new music. Sarah Cracknell loves me.

My favourite St Etienne story involved the band's antics after their Glastonbury 1994 show (which, incidentally, was sun-drenched and perfect). Refused entry to a particularly exclusive section of the backstage area, Sarah & Co. drunkenly hopped over the fence in riposte. According to eyewitnesses, Ms Cracknell was going commando that weekend, leading at least one excitable onlooker to spend the rest of the weekend telling anyone who'd listen that he'd "seen Sarah Cracknell's crack".

Almost certainly apocryphal, of course, but it made me laugh. I am pretty lowest-common-denominator, mind. Any excuse for this, really:

The other record of the year in Fradleyland is the wondrous Fever Ray album - has anyone mentioned that round here yet?

YES, ME. to widespread indifference.

It's fabulous. Amazed no-one else picked up on it, especially given that (a) a large percentage of the American contingent seem to spontaneously orgasm at the mere thought of the word "synthesizer" and (b) it sounds in large parts like Depeche Mode's "Violator" on Temazepam.

Oh well.
