Perhaps some of you wine types could make a few suggestions, as every time I pick, be it a 2 quid screwtop or a tenner's worth, I always seem to end up buying a bottle of fucking antifreeze. Come to think of it, I'd settle for anything made from grapes only. Oh, I live in the only place in the UK without a Tesco within 50 yards.....so if talking tesco, talk types, not specifics.

The Black Stump. Lovely Durif-Shiraz from Victoria, Australia. Available from laithwaites.co.uk @ £84 for 12. Probably too late for Christmas now though.
The third cheapest bottle on the shelf is usually best at pleasantly muddling the brain without causing a crippling morning after hangover.
Tesco's (and probably other supermarkets) have some great offers on. I try something different every time. I never pay less than £4. Sometimes you can get £15 bottles for £5. Tesco currently doing 3 for £10 and of those I've tried, they've all been lovely.
One of the best if you're on a budget is the Asda Rioja - Marques Del Norte. It's £2.97 a bottle.
My Spanish friends all said it's one of the best they've tasted in the UK.
Well im 8 months dry after rehab so im not the best person to ask.Iceland are doing 3 litres of Schweppes lemonade for £1 and you can get 100 Tetley teabags in poundland if thats any help to you all,God i fancy a Scotch better go AA

Mr Jarvis, quite correct.....but mulled chateau de ethanol glycol probably wont go down too well (and may explode when heated).
Rest of you....thanks some good suggestions....although being in NI....Nambarrie teabags trump tetley....ever so slightly, there's really not much in it.
You could play safe and just buy jacobs creek cabernet shiraz.about a fiver.its nice and the kind of thing that everyone would find ok really
