Delphic are doing some thing at Piccadilly Records.
Details on their (Piccadilly's) website.
Nice! I really like the subtle hint of bass, which reminds me just a tiny little bit of that guy who used to play for that "Blue Monday" group.
But seriously, it sits in the mix perfectly, like it was there the whole time. You might not win the contest, but Delphic should hire you on as bass player.
Dammit, I was going to enter too... but now I've voted against my non-existent entry. I have to admit, losing remix contest after remix contest isn't all it's cracked up to be.
Voted.
By far the best part of the track was the bass ![]()
Similar construct to "Empty" I noticed... ![]()
Good stuff Jed.. I voted for it...
I'm currently upsetting the neighbours with the richmanu remix cos its mental.
How are those top ones winning? Sound like ecstasy driven rave music... which always sounds like garbage.
Gave yours a vote. Good stuff. ![]()
Jed you're madder than me mate, a true bass supremacist if ever there was one....the double tracking hooky/growlything towards the end is just inspirational.
I wonder if I should give this a shot myself.

Thanks Steve, there's four bass lines going on in that ![]()

You've got till the end of the month to submit a mix, but as it's on votes then the sooner the better.
I know I've no chance hence the Doubtful remix, but it was good fun.
Brett, who's this "Blue Monday" fella you're on about? never heard of it!
Good work Jed - I enjoyed that.
Hijacking your thread a little, this from Picc's FB feed:
Piccadilly Records Delphic instore gig - Monday 11th January. 4.50pm. No Tickets just get here in plenty of time!

Oooooooh
Nice work Jed.
As for Delphic, they don't do owt for me. Don't like the singer's voice and the music is very average, But at least they don't sound like New Order. They'd be even worse then as all New Order copyists are cack. The thing with NO's sound is it's so unique any band trying to emulate it can only fail miserably.Er, except Jed

And Islington Mill is in Salford isn't it?
They are slagging themselves out a bit. Every gig is a tenner or under, but that's not a complaint. Catch it while it's hot.
On the Orbital tour I technically had tickets to see them four times, but in time honoured tradition stayed in the pub. I caught thirty seconds at Brighton, and it was a very good thirty seconds.
I'm in for Dingwalls.![]()

Unfortunately, I didn't even do that much and I saw Orbital more than four times on that tour...
I did meet the drummer at an after-show party, however - he was DJ'ing! :p

I did re-appear back in the pub, about 90 seconds later, saying they end their songs well.
I noticed a few people have downloaded the track, that's a low quality version of it, as I had to reduce the file size to use the delphic upload system!
If anyone wants a better quality version, still mp3 but 10mb rather than 4mb, you can download it here: Jed's doubtful mix

Conversely, the review in the Guardian this weekend spends most of the time stressing just how much they DO sound like New Order. Go figure.

the album is ok, needs a few more listens, but was not that impressed live first time i saw them, will try again in feb. shame as counterpoint & doubt are cracking tunes - have noticed they have repeated the new order trick of soundtracking sports footage everywhere as well

Only £7 a ticket,
What they like live?...
Well they were brilliant for thirty seconds. ATR rates them highly, and from what I've seen on TV they are better live than on record.
Drummer is ace ![]()

Easily... I just paid a tenner down in old smokie. £7 is well worth it.. will be 25 notes next time.
You got my vote Jed, your remix is better than the original. All of Delphic's songs could use some extra kick.
I still can't get over this remix, blown everything out of the water i've heard in a long time. Now the 2nd most played song (The Chameleons - Perfume Garden is first btw)
any chance of video, i have to learn this please!![]()

Do you mean a video of me playing it? I'll have to learn it again!!!!
That reminds me of a stupid early keanu reeves film (or however you spell his bloody name) where he's in a band playing guitar and comes out with a great riff, his singer says that was fantastic do it again, he says I don't know what I did I had my eyes shut!

Bill & Ted right?!
ahh no worries then, i'll work it out eventually,
I've just been playing along to it, do you mean the chorus part, there's four bass parts at once there, I've got an idea, I'll have a go at it tomorrow, but you'll need 24 frets to do it!
Here you go mate, I hope you're meaning the chorus part as that's what I've done here, there's a few fluffed notes and a pile of washing in the background but I'm pretty chuffed with this myself!
Hope that helps.

Fucking hell thanks![]()
that's more than enough, ta very much!
Cheers mate, I'm not sure if you 've seen it but you might like my remix of Crystal.
Added a little extra bass at the end.
Jed, Maybe you should send this n/o remix (and some of your other stuff) in to Eddy Temple Morris'Remix show at XFM (Friday Nights). He has a section called Bedroom Bedlam which features exactly this kind if stuff. Every now and then some of his featured Bedroom Bedlam remixers go on to bigger things...
