Tubeway Army's first appearance back in the late 70's.

Huh? Confused by the original posters point. If you think that slab of Italo-disco was the cheesiest thing to grace the TOTP screens in the 80's you're very much mistaken.
As for the performance that EVERYONE talked about at school the next day, at my school it was , rather disturbingly, this....(ps I own this record on 12inch)
Ha ha I remember watching that with my parents. The urge to get up and dance has never been weaker.
Parents always look at their kids like they're responsible for things like that when they come on the telly.

Dunno about cheesiest but one old TOTP clip i never tire of watching is Mighty Wah's appearance doing Come Back in 1984.I still vividly recall watching at the time.

I wouldn't call Jimmy McShane's mastery of dance cheezey, more cheeky and legendary. Also ironic is the fact that he wasn't even the recorded singer for the tune. Your video comes in a sortof close second.
Can't find two memorables, first was Motorhead doing Ace of Spades. Second was Divine, here he is in Australia.
I think that 83 BM clip is pretty good. No miming, Bernard laughing etc.
