What a disappointment for Manchester University, losing in the semi-finals to Emmanuel College Cambridge. Gutted for Rachael Neuman, but Alex Guttenplan was just too good.

There was some good news tonight though: Alan Gibbs (from St. Helens) and The Gamblers are through to the series three final of Only Connect (BBC4, UK TV programme, 20:30-21:00).
