Totally Toast!

So whats your verdict and what goes best with which topping ?

thin sliced medium sliced thick sliced (yeaa!)

Funny, I bought a 'thick sliced' loaf the other day by mistake (I was in a rush) and we never had a backup in the freezer. So for the first time in what seemed like a long while I had to deliberate which topping to apply to thickened bread toasted just nice.

To make matters worse my bird had thrown out my 'orgnanic peanut butter' (which incidentally, cost about a hundred units) because 'she claimed' it was 'on it's way out'. Then, she replaced it with ... diet 'smooth' peanut butter. Needless to say I nearly fainted.

So it was lurpak (light) with 'smooth' diet peanut butter and let me tell you it wasn't worth spreading on the 'thick' bread.

On better days, I usually roast the following:

Medium 'brown' bread Crunchy peanut butter, lemon cheese and marmalade Lurpak light

Scrummy. Makes the birds scatter.

is that the lemon vodka infused cheddar you can get down tescos?

Lemon Cheese is what Lemon Curd wants to be.

If you seek out this product, be warned, once the Lemon Cheese has been spread, never again will you desire Lemon Curd. It's like chalk and cheese. Literally.

Best pop it back under the grill for a bit.. its not quite done Huntsy ;)

marmite everytime for me

tend to go with thick white bread for toast. guava jam is rather tasty but also go for marmite cheese (mature cheddar, stronger the better) cheese & marmite chocolate/praline spread chocolate/praline spread & cheese

speaking of toast, why do toasters have a setting to burn bread?

why cant there be more shades of light to golden brown?

about browning bread... i've never fully understood the defrost button on a toaster does it toast slower, hotter or what??

Never mind that, surely the big question is thus:

Why does a toasters 'pop-up' button only work after it has been pressed at least 7 times - and only after the toast went from almost burnt to burnt?

I prefer the traditional grilling method myself. Peanut butter (sometimes with jam), or plain old full fat salty butter (none of your marg crap) on mine please ta.

Lemon cheese sounds minging.

only thick will do with: butter butter and peanut butter butter and raspberry jam with seeds you can keep yer yeast extracts and fat-less spreads (a stupid concept)

if you're ever feeling flush, dutchy (or is it duchy) original lemon curd is divine. it's some prince of wales endorsed organic stuff that we got in a christmas hamper from a relative. fuckin' lovely

Lightly toasted, with:

1. Peanut butter by itself

2. Peanut butter and jelly (preferabbly blueberry)

3. Cheese (American, though I'm sure Swiss is just as nice)

4. Smirnoff Ice (to drink, not put on the toast)
