This comes around every year like clockwork dunnit?
Frequently amazed by the sheer laziness of the press in this country. Two old acquaintances having a friendly chat at a mutual acquaintance's mother's funeral = band reformation and world tour. Fucking hell, I read each article yesterday and beyond them allegedly being nice to each other..... nothing. No meat to the story. Not one thing to suggest anything music-related will ever happen. Most of the comments beneath each article had people saying "I'm booking tickets man"... errr what tickets you numpty?
Anyway, they're in the same category as The Smiths for me (and possibly New Order at this late stage). Just. Don't. Do. It.
Squire was absolutely right, let's hope he still doesn't want to desecrate their memory.
OH no, that is ALL we need..... a bloody trigger for a whole Madchester reunion. Then of course Happy Mondays will all get back together happily ever after (including the ones who hated Shaun's guts like Cowhead and PD and his brother Paul....yeah, right!!).
The Stone Roses should reform with Aziz Ibrahim and Nigel Ippinson and Robbie Maddix more like!
Of course it ain't gonna bleeding chuffin well happen!! These music papers like NME are SO bloody desperate!
Besides, they were without a doubt one of the most overrated bands ever, for the brief time they were together.
Of course this will happen - the money they must be getting offered will be insane, and getting more insane every year. What, 25,000 people at Spike Island? At about £15 a pop? They'd get paid 500% more for doing Glastonbury next year, and a 'proper' tour would probably earn them each more than they ever made circa '89-90.
If this reformation doesn't happen in the next few years I will happily eat my copy of the "Sally Cinnamon" 12" and then consume my own shite on youtube....
