Seriously though...if the likes of the Courteeners are supposed to be the great hopes (even though they've been going for ages now), then there isn't much to say really....
As for Beady Eye - they don't count cos Liam lives in London and he's the only Manc in the band anyway.
Can't think of anything truly exciting now except loads of these new anonymous faces..... it's almost as if there is a bit of a step down from the mass public consciousness....but then baggy died 20 years ago!!! So unless they reactivate it for another pathetic anniversary thingy then it's best to leave it there.

One of the bands lnked in the article "Dutch Uncles" have some good tunes not sure about the name though..
That's just it - the point I was making...all of the bands have such rubbish names. They're hardly the sort of names that you could reel off easily like in the 90s......in fact I've forgotten them all again!

You're right there, there's this disquiet about bringing up NO/JD,Happy Mondays,OASIS etc. There are some good bands coming out of Manc still, either because they're indiginous to Manc, or they're students,or musicians who've come to settle in Manc BECAUSE of the heritage. But the forementioned bands all had BIG personalities, HOOKY, CURTIS,IAN BROWN,THE GALLAGHERS,MORRISSEY. Out of the new batch,I wouldn't recognise them from Adam..
