Glastonbury was utterly pants this year..... (UPoo? Clodplay? Beyonce?? ) one of the worst line ups ever across the main stages.... with probably one exception: The Chemical Brothers.
Old timers still got it in them, I have to say! :)

Daughter order went to isle of wight, well it is on the doorstep, came home early cos of the rain lightweight
she paid ! £15 for a posh loo pass, i paid £12 for me first Reading fes ticket back in 75, rock n roll man.
lets rock the house.
There were over a 1000 acts and DJ's at Glastonbury this year, unrivaled by any other festival in the world.
Caribou, Chems, TV on the Radio, Hercules and Love Affair, Metronomy, Wu-Tang, Little Dragon, DJ Shadow, I am Kloot, Battles, Yuck, Pulp, Gruff Rhys...I could go on...and on.
I'd hazard a guess that you've never been?
Thought so.
The revived Get Loaded in the Park in London exactly a month ago. It pissed down with rain. But free tix meant it was a no brainer. Lots of small/medium sized stuff really. Liked: Yelle (French electro that made you forget the weather. They sound really cheezy on their myspace mind you). The Rifles - a full hour of Wellers favourite support band. Seen em before but this was their best yet IMHO. O Children. Took their name from the Nick Cave song, and it shows, but that's no bad thing. Their giant of a singer used to be in Bono Must Die who were shit, but don't hold that against him. Babeshadow - A bit like Vampire weekend. Spector. Look like new romantics meet eccentric professor but sound like the Killers circa first album. Y'know when they were young, erm I mean good. Six Nation State. They grow on you. The Cribs - well you know these guys. Maybe their set was a bit same-y but they did all the songs you'd expect/want. British Sea Power: More please. Set was too short on the main stage. Seen these guys about six times. Never mind the rivalry between the Vikings and the whatjamacallits. this is a really good live band, too bad they only played about 25 mins.

Did you smile like you meant it by the way? Or were you human but not a dancer?

I think they're called the Third Battalion. There's no rivalry between them and NO !!!

Love Sziget, there's always somtething to do even of you're not interested in particular bands on the night, and that's unlikely as there's like a dozen stages, also the program lasts the entire day, not just during the concerts. Enjoyed an early morning capoeira workout once.
No festival for me this year. I usually went to the "local" Area 4 festival every year. But this year the line-up is 80% :barf:.
Shame I'd have had a chance to see The National and Danko Jones there... But two bands of that lot... Bad quota.
