What do you make of the News of the World scandal?

Pretty shocking hacking into dead peoples phones I say. But the guilty ones seem to be unpunished while over 200 employees of NotW have been sacked.

NotW will be no more after Sunday, but The Sun On Sunday will replace it.

I was tempted to cancel my sky installation tomorrow but I dont surpose Richard Branson is a saint either.

In fact you could say power=corruption=lies!!

The Sun on Sunday??? That's what you call a lost opportunity for a clever rebranding using the name Sun and Sunday......

simply call it The SUNday.....

easy peasy.

Stilll wouldn't piss on the paper if it were on fire, though....

Its all bollocks.

The politicians are making the most of this as a way of settling scores after the trouble the newspapers (including Murdochs) caused them over the expenses issues last year.

The non-Murdoch newspapers, while reporting whats going down, arent really going for the throat in the way you'd expect. Hmmm. I wonder why that could be? Are we to believe only Murdoch journos are capable of such things?

The Murdoch empire will continue to grow. The News Of The World will re-launch as The Sunday Sun and, while they probably wont dare to do what they used to do, people will start buying it again. It may lose some readership to other Sunday papers initially (maybe forever) but it will still earn a decent amount for Rupes.

The victims who's privacy has been invaded will soon be only a periphery aspect to the story.

Just to prove everybody right the News Of The World will be printing twice as many copies as normal to cater for the demand on the last ever issue.

So in actual fact 'the public' dont give a flying fuck. There will be no boycott, (Howlin' Mad) Murdoch will do nicely out of it all thankyou very much.

I hate it when a plan comes together.

I'd consider FreeSat

You pay a lump sum for the kit [say £200] and get 200 odd channels with no monthly bill so you break even after a few months then its plain sailing and one less bill to pay

If you wish to contact News International, please leave yourself a voicemail and they will pick it up as soon as possible.

Rupert Murdoch's empire isn't going to fail. At least not here in the US. However, it would be better for all of us if Fix News went out of business. The problem isn't its right-wing stance--that's perfectly ok in a free market democracy--but its complete lack of scruples. Fox is the most amoral "news" channel in history and their tagline, "Fair and Balanced," is a joke. Fortunately we have Jon Stewart to debunk the thing.

Its over now anyway. It'd dropped from the news anyway but Amy Winehouse and a Nazi in Norway have cleared it from Joe Publics memory as well.

I doubt it somehow - there's still two enquiries to go yet...

Regardless of what happens in the end, it's great that News International is the subject of the headlines rather than creating them! :p

The NOTW hacking scandal was getting extremely boring and tedious. I mean there were many far more deserving stories before the Norway massacre. Thousands starving in Somalia, Greece going bust and bringing down the euro with it or whether Barney has a new pair of adidas trainers.
