Bit old hat now... but final Spooks series starts on Sunday, and its a rather poor 6 episodes long. Which, either means the BBC can't be arsed anymore, or that they've blown the budget on some awesome Al Qaeda Olympic dirty bomb thingy. Whatever happens, Harry's going to get it.

Buggered if i can remember much about series 9. Wasn't it all about Lucas trying to clear his arse?Is Lucas dead
Is that bird with the massive big eyes still in it/alive? What about Hemione Norris ![]()
I think i actually started to fancy Ruth a bit by the end, god forbid![]()

It's only Ruth and Harry left now isn't it.
Lucas is dead. Didn't he kill himself?
And the bushbaby with the mahusive eyes is dead too.
The main lead in the new series is some bird from True Blood, but I'll be buggered if I can remember her from said show.
It's up against Downton Abbey anyways, so nobody will be watching. . .

A quick google reveals it's this chick

"Sexy True Blood star Lara Pulver is to get her teeth into Spooks.
Lara, who plays Sookie Stackhouse's fairy godmother Claudine Crane in the bayou vampire series, will take over as the new head of the covert spy team.
She'll be replacing Sophia Myles, who played Beth Bailey, when the tenth run of the MI5 thriller from the Beeb hits screens in the Autumn.
Lara's character, we're told, will be "ambitious, hungry and determined to make her mark" - something she perfected as the treacherous Isabella in BBC1's Robin Hood."
Um, vaguely recall her in True Blood "Sookie's Fairy godmother" ?![]()

Shows you how much Spooks has gone downhill. I'd completely forgotten about that Beth character?
Did she get killed? For the life of me I don't know.

Ermmm.. she didnt get killed i dont think. Whole series was poor except for the last one, in which Lucas jumped off a building.
Sophia Myles used to be a good actress, dunno what went wrong there; presumably she'll be bumped off in between series or in the first episode.
There was a rough alky bloke introduced in last one of series 9, who looked like he could be an interesting character; not sure if he's a runner of not.
Hermione Norris i think copped it in a bomb in the series before. Perhaps they'll bring Tom back in or summat. Or Keeley Hawes.
The finale with Harry and Lucas on the roof, as you say the implication was that Lucas jumped but I can't remember if we saw his body or not.
As much as I'd like to see Harry and Ruth walk hand in hand into the sunset at the end, I expect they'll just get blown to smithereens...
I liked Spooks but just reading this thread.i realised how much ive lost the plot with it,anyway,im more of an NCIS man these days ![]()
Rumour is that the penultimate scene is Adam in the shower and Zoe is in bed and wakes up saying it was just a dream. The last scene involves Ruth sucking off Harry whilst terrorists let off a dirty bomb.

I'd tried really hard to forget the deep-fat-fryer. Proper nasty. :(

I watched that again recently... Lisa Faulkner wasnt it? Still happens totally out of the blue.
So, that's it then?
Glad to see two of the cast got butchered in the final series. Keeping true to form there.
And nice to see Tom Quinn reappear for all of, ooh, two seconds right at the very death. That was most unexpected.
Now, when are they gonna bring back that teenage version of Spooks?

With Tom appearing at the end, they've set it up well for another series, no matter what they say. Quality programme that rarely fails to deliver ![]()
