The Chemical Brothers: Don't Think concert film

Together with director Adam Smith, The Chemical Brothers have prepared a live concert film called Don't Think, which will be screened around the world starting in January.

Don't Think was filmed on location at Japan's Fuji Rock festival on July 31st, 2011. A long-time collaborator with The Chemical Brothers, Smith combines footage from 20 different perspectives with "avant-garde magic realist moments" in an attempt to best capture the famously psychedelic live act. "I wanted to capture what it is like to experience the show from right in the middle of the crowd as well as showing and combining the visuals featured in the show with the footage we captured on this one night," Smith Says, "to see how the music and visuals emotionally affect and connect with the audience."

The film features the entirety of The Chemical Brother's headlining set in Dolby 7:1 surround sound. It will screen first on January 26th in 20 cinemas around the world, with a wider release to follow on February 6th. Head to the film's official website for details on where and when it's playing. Looks like fun. Now if the local Odeon can just be convinced to shut down the popcorn stand and replace it with an E's and glowsticks stand, we really could feel as though we were there!

You know this sounds exciting. Always loved the Chemicals....and they have stolen New Order's thunder pretty much when it comes to groundbreaking dance music.

Even 10 years on from Surrender, they're still able to totally captivate with their mix of music and visuals....

Love all their album artwork as well - which is more than I can now say for New Order (since Get Ready onwards).....

Well that collection build up itself throughout the last 30 years. And I suppose I got worse than Bryan Adams. Sometimes it's funny to look at the collection and try to recap how the own musical taste developed.

I just changed the collection link back to the other database. It's a bit better arranged.

I watched Don't Think last night. The staff at the Odeon in Manchester certainly had their work cut out trying to keep everyone sat down! Thought the film was quality, me and the missus are planning to go to Fuji Rock this year, those Japanese kids know how to 'ave it!

Looking forward to it coming out on DVD. Watch it, Ed Simons is a Viking after all!

Well it was great. And I defo will buy the DVD - and if it's only to get the audio ripped.

Just watched the Blu-ray and was glad they changed up the setlist and included some new visuals..that clown still gives me the creeps though!
