Some of us are that addicted we even follow Shaun solo and the criminally underated Big Arm (Pauls old band).
Just wait for the hanger er on ers to appear. Stone roses have a lot to answer for.![]()
I'm flying over the Atlantic for the Troxy gig..what are you doing? Getting a ride down the M1 by your mum?
Spoke to SWR at one his gigs week b4 XMas. He said only himself, Rowetta n brother Paul had signed up for next summer. Gaz i can live without but Paul is one funky fcker.![]()
I hope it's for real 'cos I even bought a ticket for a Mondays gig in Rio de Janeiro in March. ![]()

Mark... you staying up next day for the new Order glasgow do?
Happy Mondays....dunno, they were always a bit kind of for kids who were 18 in 1990 who had missed out on the classic, chaotic mid eighties New Order gigs really, weren't they.Poor souls![]()
The Mondays reached their peak with Squirrel And G Man album in 87 . All that Step On crap was a sad, pale shadow of that first album
WHY THE FUCK ARE THEY REFORMING YET ABLOODYGAIN???
CAN'T HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE ROSES BACK TOGETHER AS WELL CAN IT?

Stuck Pilll n Thrills on to see if it was any better than the last time I played it 20 years ago. No, it really is fucking awful. Bloated, lazy, uninspired cack. Every song a b side at best.
I'll stick with Squirrell And G Man album if I ever want to listen to em again

Remember when Shaun Ryder dropped all his methadone at Manchester airport? On their way to catch the plane to Barbados to record Yes Please! in summer 92, Shaun dropped his bag at the foot of the escalator. I'm sure i remember seeing footage of this, it was on News At Ten or something. Had a search on YouTube but found nowt. Wish i could find it, it was hilarious. there was deffo footage of it, Shaun down on his hands and knees scrambling around trying to scoop up all the spilt methadone![]()

Same here..... That first album sounded like nobody else. Really.
Loved Desmond and Oasis - two of my fave tracks on that album. Tart Tart was fucking genius, as was Little Matchstick Owen's Rap, as was Olive Oil, as was Kuff Dam..... an absolute belter....and they just couldn't better it.
Weirdly enough the weakest track turned out to be the one that was added to it when Desmond was taken off due to the Beatles publishers injuncting it cos it stole from ObLaDi ObLaDa....24 Hour Party People (which was written AFTER the album of the same name)
The moment they appeared on TOTP with Hallelujah, it was a thrill to see them actually on there obviously, but I wasn't too enamoured with the song itself....it seemed to be the start of their crap phase. All that baggy hype along with the Roses and the others could not hide the fact that the Mondays had actually become a load of arse.

Could never understand why they got Kirsty McColl in with Hallelujah. She was a nice girl and all that yeah but some of those old Top Of The Pops appearances with her joining them?....
She didn't fit in with em at all i always thought.

She was - at the time - 'rent-a-backing-singer' wasn't she? She'd already guested with the like of Billy Bragg and The Smiths before the Mondays got her to shake a bit of booty with them on that seminal (not in my eyes, mind) TOTP appearance along with the Swinging Manc Baboons.

Bez has retired? So after the big news that it's the full line up for the first time since whenever the last time was Bez announces he's retiring from dancing and won't be appearing on stage with them at all.Well that's about 95% of the entertainment gone
. Can't imagine watching em without Bez. Glad i didn't buy a ticket now. Couldn't go and see em live if there was no Bez. What's the frickin point?![]()
Kirsty Macoll came about because of the obvious link to Steve Lillywhite (who remixed Halleluyah).
Bez is still mc - ing for the shows and doing pre gig djing, although he didnt travel over to Canada for pre-production work on re-jigging the songs.![]()
