not that it matters, but the only match i've ever seen was at Arsenal....i don't remember who they played but i was only 3 rows from the pitch inbetween the goal and mid-field....great fun....got free tickets from George Best's lawyer....what are they (lawyers) called there....not barrister....something....ah shit, it was tons of fun to ride the train to the game...get off among a see of red scarves and tops in a neighborhood wondering where the stadium was....

Who will stop Arsenal? Not any team with Gary Kelly and Olivier Dacourt in it.

no one. no one will ever stop arsenal because they're the BEST TEAM IN THE WORLD!!! even if the lose every game they're still the best team in the world. even if they all die of cholera, they're still the best team in the world. even if highbury burns to the ground with arsene and the boys inside, they're still the best team in the world (although i would cry and be absolutely devastated, of course. especially at the loss of my dear, yet aging, dutch wonderboy, dennis). GO GUNNERS! :jump: :jump: :jump: incidentally, i think i'm the only person in central florida who drives a car with an arsenal scarf gracing the backseat headrests.

Who's gonna stop em? Only Arsenal themselves.....remember Newcastle a few years ago?

Seriously can't see anyone stopping them domestically.....but I'm gonna stick me neck out and say they're not good enough to win the Champions League......why I hear you say........one word "Defense"

OI there's no need fer that;)

We were beaten by a hungrier team...simple as that, but they've not disgraced themselves so far, they won their first game 2-0, then held Hanky's heroes to a 1-1 draw at Anfield. I think they (FC Basle) could well be the surprise team of the tournament.....I hope they go far:nod: Then it would show that we were beaten by a great wee team:nod: Arsenals defensive record in Europe speaks fer itself....don't get me wrong, I wouldn't mind seeing the arse win it, I just think as soon as they come against a team with half decent wingers and forwards, they're gonna be shown up.....fer your sake I hope not.....but don't say I never warned ye;)

just winding you up, shugsy! and you're right, arsenal always seem to screw things up in europe. that's the story of teams i support, though. just like the denver broncos (i generally think american football is a stupid waste of time, unless my beloved broncos are playing (i grew up in colorado)). they went to 4 super bowls and lost each time. they finally won two in a row, but only after suffering four years of abject humiliation. as long as chelsea don't win anything at all ever again, i'm content, however.

 I knew you were only kidding!

And don't talk to me about suffering, from 14 years old until I was 23, I had to put up with Rangers winning almost everything:nonono: Can you imagine how that felt? my teenage years were fuckin miserable.....my early drinking years in the pub were hard....but as all true supporters should do, you have to take it, and I always wore the Celtic top down the pub, win lose or draw:nod: And I always (well nearly always) enjoyed the craic with the Blue Noses! Luckily them days are a far off distant memory....and I look forward to Rangers giving us a run for our money this year:nod: Otherwise Scottish football is gonna die aff even quicker!

Gotta go soon, I have Never Mind The Buzzcoks, Coupling and The Office recorded, Alan Partridge is on at 20 past 11, and That Peter Kay thing is on C4........life is hard:lol:

Can't agree about Basel. For them to end up surprise packages would be at the expense of our progression. How we never beat them 5-1 is a mystery. Hopefully now Owen's out of his dry spell I think we should be good enough to beat them away. I think Valencia should be good enough to beat them home and away. I think they only created the one chance that they scored from against us.
