well i've heard hundreds of new great songs and great new bands on BBC6Music this year, some of which i can remember and that made a lasting impression, wish i could remember them all

Favourite song of the year though was Emmylou by First Aid Kit

Grimes- ( cant remember name of track, that one which starts off like Kraftwerk's Autobahn )

Gabrielle - Valentino ( this possibly released late 2011 though?)

a predictable list from me - tindersticks, hawley, beach house, lambchop, grizzly bear.

i still need to give first aid kit some attention, and i've not heard the john murry album but would like to.

well this is always the danger isn't it. i do genuinely like a lot of new stuff lately though.

yeah forgot Beach House, have liked some of their stuff i've heard.

oh and The Stones' Doom And Gloom. Used to f****n hate the Stones but i loved Doom And Gloom

a friend of mine posted her top ten songs of the year on fb yesterday. i had only heard one of the songs and only heard of three of the artists. i am DEFINITELY middle aged now.

Honestly with a name like that I expected 6 rappers doing a lad band thing. Instead, N. Orge doing some sort of Skinny Puppy dub/remix. S'alright.

Hadn't heard of that RIPActress stuff do had a listen on Spotify. Erm, didn't anything for me at all but that's probably a good thing , I'll probably hear it again sometime somewhere and think bloody hell this is good where have I heard this before?

Let's hope for some remixes as good as this in the forthcoming Depeche Mode 13th studio album in 2013...
