Good album, quite unusual for someone (Jason Pierce) from my hometown to achieve such artistic excellence. Title track is a great song. Also a few other songs i can't quite name off top off my head right now that are really good.Oh, Broken Heart, that one is dark
The album they did after that is also superb, Let It All Come Down.In particular The Straight And Narrow, I Didn't Mean To Hurt You, Don't Just Do Something, Out Of Sight, Stop Your Crying
ah, from Wiki
"The title of the album is taken from the philosophical novel Sophie's World by Jostein Gaarder, the context being: “ Only philosophers embark on this perilous expedition to the outermost reaches of language and existence. Some of them fall off, but others cling on desperately and yell at the people nestling deep in the snug softness, stuffing themselves with delicious food and drink. 'Ladies and Gentlemen,' they yell, 'we are floating in space!' But none of the people down there care.[3] ” "
an extremely beautiful couple of lines. i'm not surprised JP found the imagery inspiring. and the lyrics too, in the song, are beautiful. either or both these things could make me cry, i expect, if i were not made of stern stuff.
