Anyone seen RED DRAGON? Is it worth watching? Methinks the book is the strongest of the Lecter series.
Anyone seen "Ichiro's travels" (not so sure about the name, it is this anime film who won the Berlin Film Festival.) Again, is it worth the while?
Any other recomendations?
Im going to see TripleX tonight, i'll let u know what its like.
I'd imagine Red Dragon is very good if its anything like the other two.
Minority Report. It's a: a) Spielberg movie b) based on a Philip K.Dick story

Are you aware that "Red Dragon" is a remake?
Well Jorge, if you are referring to Manhunter it is not a remake, rather they are both different takes on the book, more faithful the latter I have heard.
I saw Minority Report last week and it's quite watchable actually, not as good as Blade Runner, of course but not as good as Total Recall either.
I got no time for a weekend movie, I have a Biology test Monday!
I might pop in some Monty Python tapes later on to relax, but otherwise, no.
I'm still waiting for the local $1.50 theater to get "24 HPP", but so far they've got "The Tuxedo" and "XXX" 
red dragon's fantastic! to be honest, i wasn't all that impressed with manhunter. william petersen and brian cox did good jobs as the two leads, but ed norton and, of course, anthony hopkins, are terrific. if i remember correctly, manhunter has a different ending from the book, as well, which left me disappointed.
plus: ralph fiennes as the killer and emily watson (one of the best around)as his love interest. 
harvey keitel and philip seymour hoffman are also in it. it's such a great cast and they took advantage of a great script. up there with silence of the lambs! (jesus, i should write for people magazine...)

Very fine K Dick adaptations... but Report knocked Blade Runner from the top spot!

Very fine K Dick adaptations... but Report knocked Blade Runner from the top spot!
Excuse me Jorge but did you just say that Minority Report is a better film than Blade Runner?
Minority Report is a fine film but nothing else, even Nicos who raves about it elsewhere will agree with me on that.
I agree with Armband, Majority Rapport is sensationally average. A 'quite good' movie that is a little too derivative to be unique, similar to Vanilla Ice Cream Sky.
I've never enjoyed Beard Runner but can recognise its beauty.

Don't get me wrong, pals, I love BR as much as you, but let's face it... as a pure piece of cinematic magic MR is absolutely fantastic... maybe because Stevie is a lot better as a director than Ridley "past-his-prime" Scott!
MR is plop - zero originality. BR's sweeping, majestic cityscapes trounce MR on every level.
Spielberg is a classic director, with some excellent caps, but resorting to using Slave 1 from The Empire Strikes back hovering over a house in Majority is Repeating is no excuse.
Also, for putting two endings on Artificial Intelligence.

Blade Runner was Scott's third film, he had previously done the gorgeous "The Duellists" (guess where Armand d'Hubert comes from? Yes, the one with the lanky moustache) and the amazing ALIEN so he could hardly had been past his prime then. If you've just seen Hannibal, Black Hawk Down or Gladiator despite the many flaws these films accumulate the directorial work is on the three of them almost perfect. Hardly past his best today then, either.
I would bet my full NO collection that one year, nay, 6 months from now noone will be talking about Minority Report, but you only have to go to any search engine type Blade Runner and see what it happens.

I don't want to be controversial, Armand! I said that I was a BR fan, and I am... a massive one. It's just that, FINALLY, after 20 years, Rick Deckard's found his match! As for Scott's work, I know it very well (apart from "Duellists", I'm afraid! Oh, and that boat movie he did before "Gladiator", but that one noone saw!): "Alien" and "BR" are two of my fave movies (the others being 2001, Close Encounters, Star Wars -all of them except Turkey Menace, in fact-, The Godfather, Apocalipse Now and every Woody Allen Movie -bar the ones he thought he was Ingmar Bergman)... But, for me, Scott lost his touch ages ago! In fact, the last good movie he did was "Black rain"... in 1990! And even that one isn't a masterpiece!

have to disagree most strenuously here. zero originaity? he had teams of futurologists advising what the future could hold in store, they had the personal advertising, the retina scans for everything, the cars were prototypes from lexus, there was a lot of originality in there. know you didn't like the film, but imho it was a classic.
blade runner has inspired a lot of films released sincve, but not a huge amount of thought on what the future would look like - large neon signs all over the place - thats what it was like then, hardly visionary.
