come on after the first day, i awoke at 5 am to expect to see the aussies still batting at 756 for 4 or something dreadful - so it's absolutely amazing to see England having some kind of Renaissance at the end of the 2nd day of the series.

The headline on the daily telegraph (Sydney newspaper) was a little harsh I must admit. It read "Can anyone in England play cricket ?" ...
...and I see all of you trying to make claim for cricket? Let me understand...you don't like basketball, why????? a much better game than cricket that gets ignored. I don't know why.
The fight back didn't last long. Aussies just too good and consistent in the end. England still lacking a world class bowler and world class batsmen.
Stopped up till 5.30 on Sunday morning listening to the commentary. At 5.15, we were 33-2, by 5.30 we were 35-5 
. Jacked it in & went to sleep.
We're gonna be 3-0 down before I've even put one foot on the plane.

The Irish whipped those aussie wimps at the union,
the Aussie press said it was too cold for the poor wee pussies. 
Union would have to be one of the most boring sports around. Rugby League is much more exciting to play and watch.

Personally i can`t stand Rugby, Cricket, Aussie Rules, beach volleyball, mal riders, short boards, scuba divers or fisherfolk.

union probably has too many tactical things & different elements to it for you then does it? as oposed to your beloved pass the ball once, break one tackle & its a try game for 13 people of the same shape in their shiny shorts wiggling on the floor after being "tackled"

1st time i read this thought you had said baseball, which made sense in comparing it due to there being certain similarities but now i've started to post in reply realised you said basketball. no comment on that really!

Not that at all. It just has too many penalties and kicks. More often than not there are more penalty goals kicked than tries scored. Pretty boring for a spectator. You get the odd good game but most of the time it's boring especially when the Aussies play.
more often more pens than tries? maybe at international level, but then you have the whole attack v defence thing at a much higher level & it can be appreciated as much as a good batsmen v bowler struggle on a tactical awareness thing. at club level you tend to get more tries than pens unless the weather is particularily bad. too many tries can be boring too& though i will watch league find that the 5 phases & then a kick through/for position is also drab. each to their own
