YESSSS!!! WE DID IT!! WE BLOODY DID IT!!
After four or five rather disappointing run-ins, the Boro Barmy Army regain their footing yesterday and climbed back up the table having just spectacularly broken Liverpool's unbeaten run of 12 games with a well-deserved and long-overdue strike inside just ten minutes from the end!! WE NEVER EXPECTED THIS!! I for one was dreading the worst especially seeing that we were soundly thrashed by our nemeses the Magpies on Monday, then had the wind knocked from our sails by Ipswich on Wednesday, not to mention started losing our grip ever since the embarrassing Charlton face-off a few weeks back, meaning those bastards at Leeds (is it really curtains for Tezza noo??) held on tight and refused to let us get one up on them back home the other week....
I was ready to resign myself to the inevitable "New Order Syndrome" (start near the top then quickly slide down the chart) after our superb third ranking only a month or so earlier, but now THIS HAPPENS!!!! Fook me! We were gobsmacked and elated when our hero Southgate salvaged what was ganna be a really dire game at the 80th minute! I COULDNA BELIEEEVE IT !!!
I mean, Maccarone for one was not on the best of forms these past few games, granted, and to be replaced near the end of this last one made me wonder if we were pinning too much expectation on him to deliver the goods.... but at least aad Gareth had the sheer spirit to ensure his gang of merry men were not gannin' ta give up this one back home withoot at least a proper fight - and fight they fooking well did! I'm so fooking chuffed man!
All we can hope for now is some consolidation, cos I don't think we're quite out of the woods yet, despite this surprising turn round in our fortunes, which really DID catch us all completely unawares! Fooking champion stuff! The first team to beat Liverpool this season!! That's some big deal to us, y'knaa!
So - it's indeed Unlucky Thirteen for Liverpool - and ALSO FOR MAN UNITED - cos THIRTEEN YEARS ON, Man City get the perfect kiss-off to end their last ever derby at Maine Road by soundly thrashing those overpampered pretty-boys 3-1 ! Ha ha ha ha - I was laughin' aareet!! What's more uncanny to relate - as far as both losing teams are concerned, they both had their own little 9/11 crisis didn't they?
Believe me - I was off me head last neet - celebratin' with more than a few jars fer wor boys an' also tippin' a bottle or two ta those poor aad Manc underdogs finally havin' done good as well!
WOOOOOO-HOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!
