Some of my best friends are cats - and I'd go as far as to say that I prefer the company of my cats to 90% of the people I've ever met !
I'd have to say cats too. There's this generalization that all men are supposed to hate cats, but honestly I find them to be much easier that dogs. I like dogs, but I really don't have the patience for all the slobbering, barking and stinking, and I don't have time to give all the attention they need.
I have 2 cats, but I like dog as well, I just don't like having to collect his s*it... that's it ;)

Aha ! I have the answer there. Don't feed the dog at home. Strange though it sounds, they won't shit at home if they aren't fed there.

U for real?? interesting idea.... i like dogs but there just a little too....how shall i say....stupid as shit! cats are no geniuses either, but at least they try and play it off. plus like someone said before i cant take all the barking, dirtiness, etc.
glad to see that there are many other cat people (real ones, not the nastassja kinski movie) on this site. i, for one, agree that dogs are too stinky and poo far too much for my liking. plus, i don't need something that follows me around ALL the damn time! (one of my precious moggies does that enough, thank you.)
oh yea If I may id like to pay tribute .....

that's so sweet! i have the ashes of my first cat, taro. he died at age 21 1/2 in 1998. he lived from may 5, 1977- december 18, 1998. we got him when i was 2 years old and he was the light of my life and my one and only sibling. RIP lil' brother.
well...I have two cats...a Persian, who thinks that it's beneath her to have more than about 4 seconds of contact with me a day...but she is a beauty...and this little mongrel who thinks that she owns my bed...and come to think of it, they have been my only constant companions over the last 10 years...
More of a dog person myself. And I don't rate cats as intelligent beings, so I cause constant confusion by giving my gran's cat a new name every week. This week it's "shrimp"...
Cats always look like they couldn't give a damn if you pet them or not, they're cooler about it than dogs. Plus, I have some unresloved trauma from my childhood about dogs jumping on me wanting affection, so cats do alright by me.
Funny aside in regards to drooling: My mom has two orphan kitties, Kay and Rusty. Kay (sort for 'KKK', because she's all white) drools constantly when you pet her, and I've ended up soaked from letting her sit on my lap many a time. Damn drool......
we have 2 cats that are very affectionate and very smart, Troglodyte and Plutonium Spirulina (pluto). Nary a day goes by that I don't take at least a short nap with Pluto.
