Bee keepers of the board, who predicts a victory over the Turkey Gobblers? - I'm not so certain my friends (and other animeaux).

I was excited about Saturdays game when my 2 - 0 win was founded, yes sirs, I had predicted correctly. Tonight, I believe Eggland will have a great fight on their hands fending off fowl from their goal nests. Turnkey have several good to fair winged beasts who are more than able to scupper our hopes of an early bathtime.

With Craig, Peter and the other lady up front for the Turks, Seaman, Gascoine and Beardsley will struggle.

1 - 1 is my prediction, based on a great many variables handed to me this morning by my Turkish mole.

I'd go for the draw, if wasn't a gambling man, but I've stuck a LotOfMoney on Turkey at 3's. Could've got better odds internet gambling (bluesquare are quoting 10/3) but I much prefer the feel of money exchanging hands.

It's easy to bet against England though - odds are always ridiculously favourable. We had Argentina at 4's about 10 years back - 2-2 draw, mind, but worth a punt obviously. And I remember 2 goals in the last 90seconds to deny Sweden a win over us when I was due to win a tidy fortune had the Swedes held out.

Christ, I'm a Liverpool fan and I wanted Rooney to start. And he has! WHOOP BARNEY STYLE!

I say 2-1 to England. Turks to take lead, Owen to get us out of trouble and Roonaldo to head the ball home in the 2nd half.

Such a good thing...

England play exceptionally well and win 2-0 - Scotland get beat 1-0 by a country I can't even identify on the map. Oh yes.

Unlucky Shugz, honest.

 that's something I usually hear about Americans not being able to find a certain country on the map.

Not a coach, are you Major ?

Bridge had an impossible job in the first half because he was constantly having to be in two places at once. As soon as they sorted out the left side in the second half, he had a much better game, as did Butt and Gerrard. Bridge 7 for the 2nd half. I'd score it

James 7 - two good saves but two very indecisive moments Neville 8 - starting to really impress me Bridge 7 - much better second half Ferdinand 7 - always causes a few nerves with his languid style Campbell 8 - colossal at the back when faced with pace and movement Beckham 6 - poor crossing throughout, put himself on a knife-edge and gave Turkey a clear psychological advantage with the needless early booking. Captain's can't do that ! Scholes 6 - starting to get found out by the international game Butt 7 - excellent second half after being too deep in first Gerrard 7 - much better second half - aimless and lost in first half Rooney 9 - lifted the whole nation with that ten-minute spell just before the interval, and made everyone believe again Owen 6 - carrying hamstring going into the game ? Vassell 8 - made his runs where defenders didn't want to go, and crucially broke the deadlock

Eriksson 8 - got it right, even if it took his being baled out by a bit of luck

We can be proud to be English again and it's nearly 30 nil vs the Turks. Will we ever be trated to the awesome striking abilities of Emily Heskey again

The future is bright, the future is Rooney

It was worth a punt, and I'd have been stupid to avoid those odds.

Nice to see players squaring up to each other again as well!

Beckham blowing air kisses was the highlight.

How much stick must he get?

Cracking match - best game I've seen since the World Cup easy. Brazil last weekend on Sky was good though. And Inter Milan in the Champagne League was exemplary.

Rooney - okay so he is good.

I watched at home for this one ... and a few close friends came 'round; Pringles Sour Cream and Onion Lite and Doritos Cool Original.

We all had a very, very good time.

OH NO! OH NO NO! OH OH NO NO NO!

visions of that cringworthy Doritos advert where they all share doritos and dips and "lark about" came to mind then!

Please exercise more caution when mentioning Dorito's in posts in future Huntstable!

I'd say that was about spot on. Owen had a dead back apparently in the first minutes and took a second knock on it just prior to coming off. One thing I did notice about Bridge is his pace, I kept expecting him to get a tackle in when running back but he didn't seem to be there quickly enough.
