the JAMC lollapalooza was 1993 (i think--may have been 1994). i remember thinking how i wished it had been in a small venue instead of an outdoor amphitheatre (fiddler's green in denver), since it didn't really seem to fit, and i was pretty far from the stage anyway. plus, no one around me seemed to know who the hell they were--it was really amusing! same thing happened when front 242 played at the 1994 lollapalooza--all these kids staring blankly at the stage at these euro-industrials....
when you saw the thrill kill kult were they opening for siouxsie? i saw them open for siouxsie and the banshees around that time (1991/92) in boston and they put on a great show. everything was in black light with that techno-coloured paint, and the set was done up like a french cabaret or bar, with all these dancers (like you said), if i remember correctly. madness.
I'm with you on the first point...would have preferred to see JAMC in a smaller venue...what was formerly known as the Bomb Factory here in Dallas would have been perfect!!!
and TKK was actually headlining the show I saw...but would have been better with siouxsee...instead, they had some awful band from Chicago opening for them...oh well...

Mind, PE put on a good show but I probably caught 10+ years too late - not a black face in the house!

should have told her to fight the power. am so going to text her to take the piss. 89 was the best tour for them according to my friends in the know - back then you would have been the only white face in the house.

Bloke from here phoned up the Docklands when they played there about 8 years ago, and was actually asked, "Are you black?", he said no, and the teller suggested he didn't attend the concert. He didn't.
Mind, I saw 'em on the South Bank. It's chin-stroker's heaven. Might have been different if they'd played Hackney or Brixton!
