RIP Robert Stack

Like many a child of the 80s, "Unsolved Mysteries" was a titular part of my growing experiance, and nothing scared the crap out of me more than that damn theme song. So I was saddened to run across the news that Robert Stack, the guy with the best hosting job in all of TV history, passed away yesterday. Robert, you will be missed.

All-time creepiest moment on that show: the video of a fire made by the arsonist, whose voiceover is still creepy to this day. That and all the UFO stuff used to keep me up at night....

oh man, that sucks. Robert Stack was cool. Nothing beats his lines in 'Airplane' where he's talking into the mike and no one's listening as he tells about his sad kid story:

"Do you know what it's like to fall in the mud and get kicked, in the head, by an iron boot? Of course you don't--no one does--that never happens."

oh man...he died?!?....that is sad....i need to watch the news more!

I used to watch that show every Wednesday night when I was like 8 or 9. I remember thinking that "I too could help solve a mystery", even though I could barely solve my math homework.

A friend of mine played a local murder victim on the show once.

Hell fire...he was UNTOUCHABLE!:D

More sad news: June Carter Cash died today.

I was surprised and saddened when I read about Robert Stack. I think I've watched his stuff forever.

As for June Carter Cash, I grew up listening to country and she and Johnny Cash were always on the turntable and radio. It's very sad. I hope Johnny is ok.

Boy, not to be a pessimist or anything, but this probably means the Man in Black's days are about up (not that he hasn't been on the verge for a long time). Ever notice how old people tend to go in pairs? They just seem to give up....

I'm sure I saw that movie at one point during my childhood (having been a huge Transformers fan) but I just can't remember it. Oh well....
