The melodies are mostly bad and the overall ambiance is average at best.

Dirty Sticky Floors is an ok single, but nothing more to it.

Ireally wish it would have been better because I like Dave a lot, but gotta be honest...

Still, I will be at the Montreal concert he will be giving at the Metropolis on July 29th!

I have only heard the first single and I must say that I liked it quite a bit...at any rate, due to the length of time I have been listening to Dave and the DM boys it would just be plain foolish at this point to NOT go out and get it. I will be at the Copely Symphony Hall here in San Diego when he comes around to be sure!

And I, as well, will be at his show at the Paramount Theatre in Seattle in August--even though I wasn't terribly impressed with his solo stuff. ah, what price fandom?

You know, David, that I've just realized that the water drop in your avatar is actually what was projected behind Depeche Mode on the Exciter Tour when they were performing "Waiting For The Night" ?

Good call. I have depechemode.com to thank for supplying that one. Funnily enough, I've just found a new one I like. So here's the WFTNTF one for posterity's sake:

I have liked to know what Dave could do alone (writting/producing). But it is miles away from a proper DM album, even Exciter. "Freelove" and "Dream On" are classic DM tracks in my opinion, and any track on Paper Monsters is not as good as them. And I also have enjoyed even more Martin's Counterfeit2. I hope DM will continue to exist and with Martin writting the songs (at least most of them).

Not correct. The songs are co-written with Knox Chandler and the album was produced by Ken Thomas (he produced Sigur Rós). Having said that, I must confess I love the album...

Sorry, I didn't really mean "alone", I know the tracks were co-written. I've meant meant it's an album by David, without Martin hands on it.

Sean, be warned: It's got nothing to do with Sigur Rós, sound-wise!

i know that it won't sound like SR, but the recording should still be excellent.
