It came out as a single, about 3 of us bought it then it disappeared like a thief on a bike. So whenever you get chance try and do seminars on it. Intriguing brass fanfare beginning, possibly to encourage Sharon to finally take that bath?

What is your current position on the album 'Strange Whales out at Sea'? - thought it was a classic the first time I heard it and still think that to this very day.

How Soon is Now? - Somehow I cannot get my head 'round this one. I do like it, but I doubt it will make Patrick whistle. Saying that if its opposite to what I think then its probably a decent recc.

Nice to hear your short stories about building sea creatures in Spain Shuttle Feast. Its got to the stage where I am quite embarrassed at not dispacthing a modest couple of C90's in return for some beautiful 80's memories. Thanks for the offer on the Sharon take a Dive single, but I too bought it! - although I wasn't a big singles collector (I own about 1.5 million) this was a purchase. I was at the stage where I just went and bought the new Smiths song, in the same way I bought the New Order 7", 12", sticker and tacky badge (now you see Patrick won't get that reference).

Your right though Shunty Shuft Shuttler, oh yee of the Celtic clan of Tipsworthy, The Queen is Resting vs. Showjumping Ponies Clear the Bridge would be a hard call. Frankly Oscar Schindler vs. Stop me if you fear I am Repeating Oneself ... mmmmm.

Thing is, The title track off The Queen, is it me or is this the mildest song on the album? - with the rest corking like an exploding worm. Not that I dislike it, I just like the others loads and loads and loopings.

What about Mother, I can feel the soil falling over my head? ... its almost like a dream in which somebody decided to record a song which makes you so unhappy you break wind.

Shady Shunter, I only have a few Smitzy anecdotes, well, one. And I've posted it here about 3 times so this'll be the 4th and hopefully not the last time.

I tried to get me pal into the Smuntz a few time until he final conceded in '87 (we were still relatively young around the age of 4,000). Anyways up, The Skids were booked in at the Boro Town Hall and all 5 of them were due to play a sell out. Lets get tickets, after all, Bottle Boro was only about 6mins. from our homesteads. No he said, no I don't like them enough. Well you can't argue with that kind of logistics.

Anyway it turned out that that Spuntz gig was one of their very last (all but 1 if I recollect collectively). And we missed it. The real stinger is the fact that me pal went on to become the world's most devout Spitz and Mozzer fanmail. And to this very day I always bang on about how cool we could have been attending that very gig when we was only just knee high to a grass hopping unit.

In an even stranger twist of inflatable, the other year King Monkey was playing at Hartlepuddle and me pal missed that bezzer n 'all.

I didn't, and I've got the T-shirt to prove it.

(I haven't really but you know what I mean - I wished I had bought a T-shirt now but that's another story).

Thinking about it I'm not sure you could even class that story as an anecdote its so mild. I should make something up in the middle next time I post it. Maybe something about a wolf chasing Mozzer up some stairs.

i just listened to all four Smiths studio albums today in sequence...here's how i RANK them:

1. Strangeways - absolutely perfect..Marr using synths behind Mozz's back...priceless!
2. The Smiths - I'm shocked that i'm placing this second seeing how Queen is Dead has been my favorite in the past but listening to these songs today really brought back memories. Quality debut...made me wonder what is the best debut to come out of the Manchester groups...The Stone Roses? The Smiths?
3. Queen is Dead - another nearly flawless album
4. Meat is Murder - if it wasn't for the title track, this album would possibly finish second

they are all very good to excellent albums...i have a few Mozz anecdotes but they're too humiliating to reveal

... please, reveal them.

Hypnotic Love Wrangle, are you stating you dislike Meathane is Murderous? ... takes a while but it really is a top tune.

Remember, this beautiful creature does not necessarily require to be destroyed.

And the synths on Strange Whales, they are a welcomed inclusion as Marr executed the performance with his trademark aplomb.

I think that Strangeways would be the best album, if death at ones elbow didnt ruin it. Paint a Vulgar picture is a classic and death of a disco dancer is even better.

I think the only way to settle the argument is to agree that all four albums are classic.

C4 tonite @ 11.15pm The Importance of Being Morrissey - by all accounts its quite revealing

... it was. Somewhat more humorous than past interviews, open and light hearted even!

I detected an open plee for a record contract, perhaps the aim of the broadcast. It revealed a vulnerable side to Morrissey.

Was nice to see him, nonetheless.

Well, H, How Soon Is Now was pretty good, although I realize it was the other Mr. H's recommendation, not yours.

Several of yours seemed not to be on the CDs I have.

I'd noticed this at the time of publishing your purchases. I thought it a bit rubbish to then unleash Smiths alternatives given the coin dispatched. I did hint though.

StrangeWhales and The Quorn is Dead Good are the best Smiths albums. For Smiths advocates, the earlier albums are comparable. Likening to New Order, Technical Lego and The Republican are possibly the ones you'd indicate for people to try first, staying well away from Mole Hunt and only hoping they would venture to Brother Nookie and Low-Flight. Perhaps wandering off to Powder Cakes and Layers of Vegetable Cream if became stunned.

I was hoping that by this stage, we could have suggested caverns on level 2 to enter which have Monty inside. Alas and Alad, these things were never to be.

How Soon Was Now is not my favourite Smithereens outing.

but he liked it & its a way in & hopefully will give more incentive to try more rather than discard them forever in the bargain bin of life's record shop.

hand in glove would be next recommendation, but agree with the huntsys albums recommendations.

Please, Please, Please etc. was also pretty good but quite short.

Recommending Hand in Glove Box is not going to progress his loyalty any further. In fact, its like asking someone to listen to the Carpenters, but the one the bloke sang.

'Pretty Good' Pat, is tantamount to blasphemy. You are an extremely naughty boy. 'Please Please is a little short'. A horrid lament I attempted to banish a while ago even on this very line. The Spitz being accused of under-writing their tunes around 2.30. Paul Anchor did alright didn't he?

I must now draw my sword and suggest that if you do not agree that we must fight for it. Surely the only way to satisfactorily settle any discrepancy by humans and manimals.

Please me get what I like seems perfectly formed to me. The use of the mandolin adds gravitas, it is a unique and superb song. Perhaps they felt that the length (we may need an atom clock to define the precise timing) was fitting for the song? Long or short, if it works!?

I enjoy the 12" of Sub-Crunchie for the same reason. This is a tad longer - I think.

StrangeWhales and Quorn are a more mature sound. If you think its worth it you might find some sites which have excerpts of the songs?

Okay so we were due to see the Mattress at the week ending (as mentioned) ... en route my bird suggests to switch to Anger Management Team. Although initially distressed by this I accepted the radical move over a pizza and salad.

Anyway, I'm happy to announce I did but find the whole thing hilarious and would heartily recommend it. I don't think I've ever laughed so much in a cinema since I dropped a 'large' sweet popcorn on my feet at the opening scenes of Shaving Ryan's Private Areas having only digested about 3 corns. I had to ride them corns until Ryan had concluded, my knees obscuring some of the tank battles.

Well, that's plausible, H. Adam Sandman doesn't really ever seem to have fulfilled his potential; perhaps this is what it took.

Adam Sandbag plays the same character in every film (almost identically) - nothing changes with this film, except its funny throughout. The teaming of Jack the wolf Nicholson seems to work, although you get the sense that two 'biggies' are on the screen. I wonder how many dollars were paid for their services? - 5?

The MTV Awards were on the other night but I missed them. I'll try and catch the next showing and I will try and decipher which third of the bands were any good.
