A Firm Recc. for Patsy (oh yes, again)

P - after much deliberation, I've decided to elect 'Speedway' as a song you might care to listen to from Morrissey.

For many reasons. It's mighty, mighty powerful, emotive, angst ridden, angry, melodic, majestic, beautiful and sad.

It also has an excellent sound of a dirt bike at the onset and a legendary, pounding, relentless climax.

My only wish would be to listen to the song on headphones, extremely loud, with the bit between your teeth.

Taken from the album; 'Vauxhall and I' (the last Morrissey album to be openly lauded by the 'critics'). It is the final song. The album features some other outstanding tracks, however, the best Monkey album (for me) is 'Viva Hate'. 'Speedway' is preserved on 'Vauxhall'.

(The Smiths / Morrissey - ostensibly good and good'er with both parties)

Well, H. I'm very pleased to see that you haven't given up on me yet. Am I to understand that this latest recommendation is in some ways better than various Smiths songs I haven't heard?

Are you just going to let that shoe designer reference drop?

When Monkey first set up on his own, I was sceptical (for about 6 years) - whilst my comrades invested in his solo material I didn't, thinking he was the cause of The Smiths split and that solo efforts never work.

I was so wildly wrong.

Both entities have equal merit. 'Viva Hate', for example, also encouraged the talent of Vinni Reilly on guitar and strings. So very, very good.

My pal is the shoe designer (he has no surround sound though), in London, and he paid us a visit over the weekend. Somehow we drifted onto the discussion of the internet, and I mentioned the only place I visit is here (actively participate), perhaps in an effort to thwart the geek tag. Your history was raised, to highlight that not every chat zone has lurking menace. Although you could be a nutter.

I hadn't seen Jonathan Livingston Seagull till just now. Can be interesting when a rambunctious newcomer appears. Always suspect it might be Jerry Malone.

I don't know who Jeremy Malone is, before my time maybe? - the only bad egg I can recall was, oddly, another flying mammal, The Eagle (what was his name?). I hope Seagull sticks it out, but I fear he's flown the nest.

I've tried my best to use colons but during your last few posts I really can't pretend I know how to use them anymore. Even after reading the Concise English Dictionary I'm non the wiser. I sussed that a semi was for answering a question, and a normal was for listing shit. Your three word story use has perplexed my solarium.
