Oddball coworker making no sense

A little while back, I was helping "block" the shelves at the old shit hole I work at ("blocking" is basically making the shelf look full, especially when it's not). I was there with a guy I'll call "Chet", even though that's his real name, and he was on one side of the aisle while I was on the other. I've probably described Chet before, he's the 3o-something wierdo who still lives with his parents and is suffering the beginnings of male patter baldness. Well, anyway, Chet and I are going along, making the shelf look nice and not really speaking, when all of a sudden he turns to me and says "I bet she would've been pretty when she got older."

I was perplexed and a bit worried, I figured Chet might just be the serial killer we all joked about him being when he wasn't there to hear it. I just sort of stood there, unsure what to do, so finally I asked who "she" was. I prepared myself for the unenviable position of having to hear which of his many victims he was describing.

Turns out he was talking about the little girl from the "Poltergiest" movies, the one who died shortly after the sequel or something like that. Nonetheless, it caught me a bit offguard, considering we hadn't even been talking before he decided to share his thoughts. I guess he was having the conversation in his head before, and just wanted to get my opinion.

Anyone else here ever had such a bizarre coworker? Please tell me how you survived the kidnap-and-attempted-murder...:nervous:

Well, I used to work in this restaurant, and one of the dishwashers was a bit on the rough and tumble side, but was still of a good-humoured disposition, and he was friends of the manager and his wife. At my last day of work there, the dishwasher brought me a grocery bag half-filled with some green leafy substance, and the manager's wife lifted her blouse and flashed me, though I didn't have any particular desire to ever see her naked. Quite an interesting last day, I can remember thinking, but the tasty brownies I made is what I think about most

I went out with a coworker one night and we kinda got into it at his place and all of a suddden he started calling me his little girl and his little sister and referring to himself as my big brother and my daddy...it was too weird and I left. Still creeps me out.

I was working at the Special Olympics when i was 16, since the games in philadelphia used to be held at my high school, and this guy I was sharing a table with asked if he had seen me before. I never saw him before in my life, especially since he didn't even go to my high school, but somehow we started talking about Metallica and Smashing Pumpkins, since we both liked them. Anyway, after being there for the whole day, he asked for my phone number, and I gave it to him. Eventually, after talking on the phone more about Smashing Pumpkins and Metallica, we went out to see Gladiator. That seemed to go well, since we both seemed to like the violence of the movie, but the next day, I received an e-mail from him, now declaring that we were "an item" or something like that.. and basically, I fell right out of my chair and onto the floor. Somehow, I got him to stop calling my house. The message of the story? Never give your phone number to co-workers.

We've got 3 nutcases at work...well...one nut, someone with a very poor memory, and another one who just weirds me out...

the nutcase has been going on for the past year about how the satellites control her brain...this wacko can never be arsed to show up for work on time...and her excuse was that the satelllites that are hooked up to her cell phone have the right time on them, and the clocks at work are all set fast...

yes, that's right, Target and NASA have conspired to fire one whacked out cashier...that's all we have time in our day to do :nonono:

the guy with the poor memory...this fucker will proceed to tell me the exact same story about 12 times in a single day...and he doesn't get the idea when I turn and walk very briskly away...he follows me...until I get to the toilet...

I had the distinct honor of driving this guy to an out of town store opening...and then had to share a hotel room with him for the weekend...I was ready to poke one of those little pencils that come with a yahtzee game into my eardrums just so I could not hear the mad bastard...

the third one...well...she's got a couple of habits that get on my nerves...when I'm talking to an employee...I like for them to look me in the eyes...that way I know that they are paying attention...and I can usually tell by the look if they actually understand what I'm getting at...

this chick stares at my neck...I'm think, is this freak a vampire, waiting to pounce or what???

and she also bobs her head around like a bobblehead doll...and I swear, when you ask her a question, you can hear the gears in her head grind to a halt, and see and smell smoke pouring from her ears....

but seeing as we have 300 employees in our store...I'd say three aint all that bad...

then you have this dickhead...his name is Jeff...but that's another story...
