Over 1000 of the new Harry Potter books were stolen at the weekend, the books not available till next week.

Location of theft.....Merseyside:lol:

Newton-Le-Willows, isn't even that close to Liverpool, but let's not let the facts stand in the way of some regional stereotyping.:p

It's all a publicity stunt.....

Strangely enough, Bob Mould's "Hubcap" album didn't sell well on Merseyside.....

if it was a complete stereotype it would have been dvds & not books that were nicked!

How's this for "what the hell?"...so I get offline and head out for a brief trip to the Clemson Uni Library, and at one point I"m behind this big white van with windows on the back doors. Through the windows I can make out several boxes, all of which have "Harry Potter" written with that dinky little lightening bolt! :jawdrop:

The first thought in my head: How the hell did they get the books all the way over from Merseyside in a van?

I feel pretty sure it was a legit transport, though....unless

Who, in their right mind would steal Harry Potter books? The movies themselves were pretty boring, so the books probably were...

How the hell do the thieves plan to sell these books? Hang around schools and sell them to kids? what a bunch of losers.

Seriously. I'd rather sell drugs to the little twats. More profit, less mess.

A few more copies of Harry Potter were sold early, illegally, from a health food store in Brooklyn, I read today. :nonono: For some reason, this perturbs me a bit. I can't stand Harry Potter and the fact that the next book of the series that got old after the first two is being illegal sold kind of annoys me. Now, I could understand the early selling of books by JD Salinger, if he actually wrote another novel or collection of short stories, but that's not going to happen.
