tried online dating services?

I'm a bit desperate, these days, I can't seem to find women the ususal way and I've looked at the Yahoo dating thing a couple of times. Anyway, is that the last resort or a smart decision to try, eh?

I dont know if it is the same for guys as it is for us girls...but, I seem to get lots of very strange people replying to mine...then again, maybe it is just me....Ive always been a crap magnet!...I never answer them anymore....maybe you will have better luck

well, its not just online dating services....as a woman, all you have to do is log on any instant messenger....the freaks will find you...I have gotten pics of willies emailed to me from guys I dont know, request for cyber sex...both regular and strange, and the constant im-ing from others...until you put them on your ignor list, they just keep comming back!...I have found a few tricks that git rid of most...and the ones that dont run...well, they become a bit of a fun challenge to get rid of!...I swear they will let ANYONE on the internet these days

I have a classmate- a woman from China- who was looking for a place to rent in Seattle last year. The landlord emailed her a picture of- you guessed it- his willie! :barf:

my best friend is now doing the online dating thing. personally, i find it rather unsettling, but whatever floats her boat (she's doing it more for fun than anything). she was even featured in the personals section of 'time out new york' magazine, picture and all (with blonde wig on). she has yet to meet the man of her dreams.

had another friend who advertised in the village voice. she met a few decent guys, but no one particularly interesting. she's now happily married to someone she met through a mutual friend.

as for me, i've met all my boyfriends through mutual friends and the like, and i like it that way. when the right one comes along, the right one comes along. i'm in no particular rush. as for online dating services, i'd rather be covered with papercuts and lowered into a vat of lemon juice, thank you very much.

I got tired of having a best buddy from high school who was 34 and still a virgin and forever moaning about being alone...though at the same time not doing a hell of a lot about it. Apparently the social scene in and around Gettysburg isn't all that hot.

Anyhoo, as a gift I signed up for Yahoo! Personals, slapped up a photo of his and wrote up a little bio, 'cause I knew he never would. In short, he went out on a few dates with a few women (including a trip to a corn maze and two, yes two, Medieval Faires) and met a very nice girl whom he's been seeing (and, um...you know) for about six months now. They're very much in love and never would have met otherwise.

I'd say give it a shot. You're not obligated to anything, it's reasonably cheap ($19 a month I believe) and you can sign up for the 30-day trial period, quit immediately, and then they'll offer to extend the trial another couple of months for free.

And we'll all help you write the liner notes, I mean, bio.

and as a penance for all my stupid posts, i would like to add this:

my friend got a divorce and within a month was dating attractive women, thanks to the internet. he had a different girl at every function i saw him at so i asked his brother for the story. i got the story, and was releaved to find out that the divorce wasn't affecting him badly as we thought it would.

Hells yes. But you have to make sure they're young enough that they only come up to about waist level, so then you can rest your beer on their head and they won't hurt their knees performing various other "services."
